For a long time, I have avoided using Log at all because the process of working with it has always looked so difficult and lengthy, I just didn't want it. I tried Slog 2, once, and while it gave very good DR, I didn't really like the working process. Slog 3 on the other hand has always been said to not be usable with 8-bit cameras. However, recently I tried it just for fun and I was surprised how easy it is to work with.
So, if I need maximum DR I will use Slog 3 in combination with Cinema colour profile (no conversion necessary, only adjustments for exposure in post = quick process). If I want something even faster, I will use Cine4 with raised black levels.
Both work pretty well for me.

Why did they remove Slog2 from new cameras? Why if new cameras can still record in 8 bit? I need Slog2
