I have an Arians 24 with a 11 hp it’s a beast. I live in a rural area of New England and it’s moved a serious amount of snow over the past 20 years. It’s still running good.

I bought a Sno-Tek @ Home Depot in 2007, it is the hardware store version of the Ariens, and it too has been a beast, Northern Ohio winters along Lake Erie shore can be rough, lots of snow, and all I have ever had to replace on it was the drive wheel last year. It lacks the amenities like lights and heated handles, but I don't even need electric start. Three primes and one slow pull on the rope and it fires right up. It's a solid machine.

The Ariens 24" delux is an absolutely awesome machine. Im in North Idaho and the bucket-HP ratio is there! Clears 24" wide and 20" deep snow with ease. Sounds like she boggs but that is just the way its designed. She keeps chugging right though it. Always starts on the first pull too. Never needed to use the electric start. Not too big for my wife or teens to use as well.

My number 1 tip to all new snowblower owners, run a fuel stabilizer! As with anything less creature features, less things to break! Impeller kit#1! Great video 👍💪🇺🇸💯

Last year I bought my first snowblower ever. At 70 y/o I figured it was time to hang up the shovel and do things differently. I bought an Ariens deluxe 28 and paid 1549.00 plus tax, which I didn't think was too bad. Unfortunately we only got about 60" of snow so I only used it twice. But it is a snow throwing fool. I followed your tips about storage after each use, and I always add Seafoam even though I use ethanol free gas. Looking forward to putting it through it's paces this year. To anyone looking, get an Ariens you won't be sorry. P.S. Mine has electric start but I use the pull start and it fires up on the second pull every time.

So true that simple design is best. Bought me a Yamaha snow blower thinking it was going to be bullet proof and trouble free for years to come and boy was I wrong. While I feel the engine and transmission would of probably held up well all of the other fancy stuff like the shoot control switch, the leveling shock, transmission cable ect would easily freeze up or fail failed right from the first winter I had it. and if the shoot switch fails for example you can't move it manually, its stuck where it broke until you replace the switch and parts are expensive and can be hard to get, everything on back order .theres a lot more to a snow blower than a good engine and transmission, keep it simple people you will be glad you did !

Great info on the auger! Great videos.I finally got my Ariens deluxe 28 that I wanted 20 years ago but the dealer didn't have any left at the time so I settled for a Simplicity. The Simplicity is a great machine but it's no Arians to be sure.the only thing about the Ariens I don't like is you can't push your hip into the back end of the control panel to force it thru the really heavy stuff like at the end of the driveway ( it's a sharper edge) where the Simplicity had sheet metal boxing everything in. Other than that small pet peeve I agree Ariens snowblowers all the way!

I'm a snow blower virgin, but I find your videos very helpful. Almost tempted to buy some cheap Chinese (nothing against the Chinese) junk like PowerSmart. I understand that people want to buy that, but the ones who purchased e.g. the PowerSmart 212 cc/24" and found out it was OK, were just plain lucky! Also: very interesting which hardware store/retailer/website sells what model(s) of what make and at what price: Home Depot, Home Hardware, Walmart, Amazon, Lowe's. Also: difference availability and pricing between US and Canada (where I live).
I also like the editing of your videos (I'm a trained filmmaker). You're not wasting any time, and your goofiness does not disturb me in the slightest.

Hey neighbor! I'm in Erie, PA! So happy I watched this video. I'm in the market for my first snowblower and this video definitely helps! By the way, average snowfall here, 101.2 inches. Yikes!

Excellent video! I also have to share that if anyone out there is thinking of buying a Simplicity brand 2 stage snowblower, make sure you check the unit and ask where the machine was built. I bought a Simplicity M1024E 2 stage snowblower back in 2018 and was never told that the machine was built in China. I thought it was an American made machine. Take some advice from me and don’t take anything for granted just because of a brand name like I did. I had several problems with my snowblower.

I own two snowblowers due to how the weather acts here in Utah. I have a small single stage blower with a 2 stroke engine for lighter storms and a two stage tracked snowblower for the heavy storms

I have a craftsman 30 inch 2 stage from 12 years ago for 1 property and just got a craftsman 30 inch 2 stage last week from lowes with zero issues so far i think most the issues are from the owners alot of people have no clue what they are doing in life and blame it on what ever product.
I will say the new craftsmsn does have a metal shoot vs the plastic so maybe thats something so they changed it.

Got rid of my 31.5 Craftsman,
Just wasn't reliable with a double choke.
I replaced the auger belt and that took two weeks to get the 41 and 1/2 belt while most that big run 40/41.
Craftsman is a Sears Product so i sold mine since parts were never around but the snow, a shovel, and angry in laws id have to go over and help are Always Around.
Went with a Arriens (spelling might be off)

Love the Ch New Sub

One more thing to consider: Terrain.
My driveway splits in a Y, one going to the attached garage and the other to a detached garage.
I don't get a ton of snow, but I do have a 5 foot retaining wall on the one side of the drive and I need to throw the snow over it.
Also, I want to throw snow over the other drive, not onto it.
So, consider how far you need to throw the snow as well as how much snowfall you get.

Hello. I just found your channel. I live about 15 miles south of Buffalo. For the last few years, I had a stone driveway but I just got my driveway paved and DEFINITELY considering getting a snowblower. I'm almost 47 years old - getting too old for this shoveling crap. LOL.

Two years ago I bought a TroyBilt 24 inch Snowblower with mechanical shoot turn handle for $595. It has the same 12 inch wide throw impellers as the 26 inch you showed. I live in the Lake Tahoe basin and have had to remove two feet of snow every three to four hours four times in 20 hours to stay ahead of it. A 24 ft wide wood driveway bridge to my garage, I live on a hillside, means the snow sticks quickly. I ended up with a 9.5 foot snowbank on one side a 10 foot plus on the other side. I have had to remove a 3.5 ft berm the snowplow made by first digging out a cut with a shovel and then just removing half the 24 inch width at a time. My neighbors Ariens 24 inch does the same job but cost him a lot more. I recommend besides cleaning out the auger/impeller when you are done snowblowing, to put a splash of -20 degrees F windshield washer fluid in the shoot to keep the impeller from freezing with ice on the bottom. Bought a 22 inch wide John Deere snow blower 24 years ago and I live in Indiana so it has only been used maybe 20 times and looks like it is brand new . I'm keeping it for my great grandkids as an antique because it is all polished and put away with all the original tags that came on it . Lesson learned !! LOL I now have 2 ATVs, one with a snow plow . Now my wife and I can play on both ATVs when I am not plowing any snow which isn't very often .
