Overwatch 2 (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S/One) is here to lay the new free to play foundation for the series going forward. Despite some server issues, we've managed to play some. How is it? Let's talk.

Step 1. Queue before you buy just to make sure you're in a lobby for christmas

Overwatch 2 is truly a revolutionary game! Queueing behind 40, 000+ players and watching the logo for 4 hours, truly bringing out the "Watch" in their title and then to join a game just to lose connection, making me queue over and over again! They really did emphasize on their title this time compared to Overwatch 1. Would play it again 10/10 masterpiece of a game!

I jumped on yesterday and had absolutely no queuing or gameplay problems. Worked for me straight away so I can't relate to people waiting in queue. But yeah 5v5 is way better. Having 1 tank on each side feels so much better. Makes the tank role feel a lot more important and as a support main, makes it very important for that tank to protect 2 different supports.

If they ever make a PVE story mode that has a different ending for each character like they did in some fight games, that would be cool.

I liked the loot boxes in OW never spent money on them, but got really good stuff over time

Lootboxes were definitely better in the long run to just unlock everything over time, now there is basically no chance to buy the older skins

Would be great if you would still get a lootbox per battle pass level for all the older items

5v5 instead of 6v6 just means every player is even _more_ important. This means when someone isn't doing their role, it's just a frustrating mess for everyone else.

Thank you for the well presented informative video. I installed it today and have never played the first one so I was exited to experience but when I went through the long unnecessary process of getting set up on the battle net account and waited in the queue 5 times just to find out it was impossible to login due to a bug, to say I was frustrated was a big understatement.

As a long-time Overwatch player, the new free to play direction has killed all the hype for me. The gameplay is fun yes, but the heavy monetisation of the game is just sad to see as it feels the game has lost some of its spirit. A part of what made Overwatch fun was collecting all the cosmetic items for all the different characters, but now it's all pretty much locked behind a paywall, with no way of getting new cosmetics for free. Skins on the store cost WAY too much and the battle pass doesn't have a crazy amount of rewards to offer imo, to warrant spending money on it. I know loot boxes cause controversy, but they could've just removed to ability to buy them and allowed players to get them after every level up like before. The only reason to stop doing that is to get more players to buy the battle pass, and also to spend crazy amounts of money on the store, which for me is incredibly disappointing. Other than the new characters, the only significant features of this game is the store and battle pass, otherwise it's mostly the same game with slightly updated graphics. I really do hope we see some changes regarding monetisation and cosmetics, but I doubt we will
