The retro look on these photos are insane. I'd take this style of photos over any smartphone camera if I was on a holiday

I'm 40. My family photo albums are filled with polaroids. The ones you took look identical in quality to those. This type of quality is on point for polaroid. I used a 600 type that was their most expensive model at the time when I was a kid and they either came out overexposed or underexposed. My parents stopped buying the film because it was so expensive and you had to retake just to get a good photo. We switched to 35mm cameras. Polaroid is great for instant prints and that awesome little frame and, I guess now, that vintage look (cries in old age.) But the photo quality will never be great.

Welcome to the 80s. These are the same photos we got back in the 80s when instant cameras were so popular. Yes… those same crappy photos… And We Loved them!!!

I recently bought the impulse af and it’s probably better then anything that Polaroid has released recently. If anyone is looking for a good 600 camera just go with the impulse af

I love the look! For me, the all over the board exposure (bad) is the charm. If you want a 'perfect photo, use another format! I will be keeping it. 😊

I hope a lot of people are seeing these videos on Black Friday because you just saved me money. I’ve been using my folder SX70 and was an impossible pioneer and I’ve been interested in trying to new cameras however it looks like they still haven’t figured the hardware out unless I want to drop $800+ on their “pro” model.

When I first bought this camera (gen 1), I specifically bought it for the bluetooth functionality. I wanted full manual control to do long exposures, and in that, it still kicks ass. But yea, the meter is borked and I still never really trust it.

But aren’t instant cameras meant to give nostalgic vibes not 40p vibes

Did you try to do as suggested by Polaroid website?

With your camera turned on, press and hold the flash button for a few seconds. You will see a horizontal line appear indicating where the exposure value is set by default, which is the middle, neutral position.
Press the flash button once to move the exposure value to the upper brighten position.
Press the flash button again to move the exposure value to the lower darken position.

I think the intent of the pictures is vintage and nostalgic

I'm glad I watched this video before making my order so what product would you recommend instead?

Still happy with my onestep+ I wanted the manual control but your reporting on the now+ steered me to the older model!

Would be interesting to see a side by side comparison of the Now+ and a 600 camera taking the same picture

Nothing will ever, ever top the SX-70. Period.

I like the not perfect photos. Brings back memories from the 90's.

instead of wasting that R&D money on blutooth speakers they could have put it into this, but no.

Edit: I'm really enjoying my Polaroid P1 speaker, it's not just a rebrand.

I actually literally bought this camera two weeks ago, had the WORST exposure levels in my initial tryout. It was a sunny day outside in Manhattan when I was visiting a friend! I took a picture outside with good sunny lighting and it looks like I took it in the middle of the night! So then I searched on YouTube to see reviews, or any video guides, wondering if I was doing anything wrong. Found your gen 1 videos and realized it was the camera not me. I immediately returned my gen 2 to target, and now I've ordered the mini EVO so I can have some flexibility with photos and printing to start with. I want the instants but the hybrid aspect is appealing in case I want to print a photo taken when I only had my phone on hand.

...My next buy might end up being the lomo square glass because it looks so nice. Or an Instax wide if I can find used. This whole purchasing spree happened because I found a really lovely vintage Colorpack II for $10 at a flea market. And then when I got home, realized the film is all and expired lol.

So I'm not familiar with any of the Polariod camera nowadays, but very familiar with digital and film cameras. Does a Polariod 600 I-type camera exist nowadays that takes good photos? If so, what would that be? Which Polariod camera takes the best photos using I-type film?

I've got a now plus gen 1. I have to set it low exposure when shooting outside and it does have a tendency to over expose, but I do think my camera would have done a better job taking these pictures than the gen 2 in this video.
