Peterson is unique in that he approaches Christianity through intellectualism - which is something my late pastor very much disliked and often admonished me about. But as Christians we are all different people and some of us are interested in a deeper understanding. For instance, Jesus at the feast of booths, which I find among the most fascinating pieces of scripture in John 7. Everything Jesus did at each moment coincides with a spiritual moment, which are different things. Jesus was in the spirit walking around - divinely amplified. Far more than when we walk in the spirit. I cannot imagine for the life of me what the world would look like from that very devastating perspective. I mean he could see the demons, the hearts of people and everything. Everything. And yet he could talk to you or me as though there was none of that in the background.

Jordans city of god is the place where untruth has no place
A truly objective talks from you, thanks! The city of god is the place where we all take total responsibility by speaking the truth and going our uniquest way. So, we contribute the best and the most meaningful to the city of god which is nothing less than the united souls being what they are and should be, all under the guidance of the most inner truth which is identical with the truth of god, the logos, the Christ.
The untruth is the darkish, the divider, the separator, the EGO, which is twisting truth to a lie, whereas taking your personal burden in dignity means, to carry it against all temptations of the often easier ways of egoistic lies. The city of god is the place where untruth has no place and the ego is nonexistent. We all have a long way to go.
For christians this means, don't talk about Christ with your lips only, speak it with the depth of your heart and more important, follow his example of truth and responsibility at all costs, like he did. He is waiting on that hill, to hug all sisters and brothers stumbling up to the top of truth, to the Logos, to God.

Have you watched Peterson’s lectures on the Psychological significance of the Bible? They were fantastic investigations of Christianity through an idiosyncratic exegesis of Genesis. (Exodus begins in November) Many seem to have been led back to an existential Christianity through these lectures. Would appreciate your thoughts. Yours was an interesting and thoughtful discussion. Many thanks.

Early on in the video, Alastair made the significant comment that Christianity has a stronger view of the "operations of grace" than JP. I would not use that necessarily as stick with which to beat JP over the head, however, there certainly needs to be more thinking done along these lines to see whether we Christians might need to sharpen our own thinking or definitions since JP's "ministry" to date has been anything but "graceless", wouldn't you agree ?

thank you for having comments open. I'm dismayed when Christian channels don't.

They should listen to Jordan Peterson and decide what they think.

Definitely don't worry about what someone else tells you think, or what they tell you is okay to think.

Make up your own mind.

Good, you don't press Jordan confessing to christianity,
hence, he shows much more christianity in his actions and fights than a lot of bigots. The summary and substance of this talk though was very advanced and consistent, COMPLIMENT!
The fruits of Jordans life are precious and truly in Christ's sense by following him in action and not in hypocritical words. It is not the whispering of Christs name making us christians, it is our actions. I'm even convinced, a person with no knowledge about Christ, who lives according to his example is welcomed, hence God judges our hearts, actions and not our philosophical content.
Jordan is surely not a textual believer, he follows the symbolical meaning of the Logos, by taking his cross on his shoulders, following this way the example of Christ. To get into christianity, especially for children it is very attractive to hear about his miracles and without his healings, christianity would not have made it to modern times, which would be a tragedy, so, people seem to need such pillars to look up to.
For me, all this is not the point, I deeply believe in Christ because of his example and through my personal intimate bond with his spirit, hence he accepted his cross and stood firm until he lost his consciousness in agony. He has rejected the darkish until the end and through the end, triumphing so against the forces of the ego, which are the true dividers inside the human brother/sisterhood. I'm so glad, Jordan is not clear about his faith, which is and remains a sting in the flesh of christians, who would like to fix him in their realm.
Who is a truer christian than Jordan. That's probably the reason why the churches are empty and his halls are full. People feel his trueness and get touched by it. He is at least a new prophet and my Christ would rather be in his 'church' then in a lot of others.

@14:00~~I'm at home ill, so forgive me.
I think, firmly, that Agency is something severely lacking in Christian preaching today. From Seattle, WA to Phoenix, AZ to Vermont to Raleigh, NC.
Christ = Messiah = Anointed = Appointed to Public Spectacle: and when we say we have Christ in our hearts, we are publicly OBLIGATED to become an Agent for Not merely followers or claimants.
"this little light of mine...."
it should be shining, not background lighting.
We should not be replacing wine with grape juice, bread with wafers and redefining communion. When WE KNOW PUBLICLY that Afghanistan produces 97% of the globes opium, and there is an confessed epidemic of opiode abuse in America and only Doctors can prescribe these pills, there should be no doubt or hunting down the people who are responsible. 1) pharmacies 2) doctors 3) marines all under the 2011 Government of America.
But you'd be hard-pressed to prove to me that the Churchians of America are doing anything that Salvation requires to be a member, not just of Heaven, but of the Community of God.
Praise Trump. Praise Republicanism. Praise War on people we never met. Praise War on Christians! For Christ's SAKE!
The Church is a farce, they worship Paul not Jesus, they sing hypnotic songs to a generic presence. They tell me, a very, very poor person "to do what I can" regarding homeless people, because even though they were THINKING take it to the State, they knew better, and said "don't bring him here".
Religion is not the goal of Salvation.
The goal of Salvation is Eternal Life with the Creator. excuse me, any replies are welcome.

There it is in the title, plain as the nose on your face. What Christians "should think". Disgraceful.
