It's hard being a person of morals. Honest people are expected to say nothing negative or they won't get a job. Whereas bullies and toxic employees are often employed or promoted.
Your upload has been the best I've seen so far. Thank you.

It's crazy that people don't understand that if you're "liked" you can get a job. Jobs will train anyone to do the work if they like you. Make them like you! Best job tip that I've found that worked the best!

I was in an extremely toxic work environment which was often hostile for me. I’m traumatized from the experience.

... Yes, but what if that isn't true. I'm not looking to take on a lot more responsibility in my new role? I get your point about keeping it positive and leaving personalities out of it. I've been at my company for a very long time. I've never really fit in with the "culture" there. I guess I'm lucky they kept me on as long as they did. My boss was never satisfied with my work. She likes to humiliate me in front of my coworkers. I don't know how I've endured it for so long. I'm nearly 60 years old. A healthy work family balance is very important to me. I just want to do my job to the best of my ability, and go home.

Hey there Tammy, thank you for the excellent advice. I am 5 years in with the State of California and on my 3rd State department. Still fishing around for my right salary right fit, but staying positive.

My real answer to this question in the interview- "I joined my previous company through a referral, believing it to be a great opportunity with ambitious projects and the potential for increased responsibilities. However, as time went on, it became clear that the execution of those projects never fully materialized. There were ongoing discussions about mergers, acquisitions, and even plans to go public, but the company's financial situation took a hit due to the pandemic. Export revenues from pre-COVID sales were not realized, which severely impacted cash flow. Unfortunately, this led to the company entering liquidation. It was a matter of timing and external circumstances, rather than the opportunity itself. While it wasn’t the outcome I had hoped for, it was a valuable learning experience."

I really like the way you explained this answer, and will put in my own words. This lets me know the past mistakes I've made with other interviewers. Thanks you so much, I'm new to your channel

Hey Tammy, do you think it's ok to say "the leadership principles weren't a strong match for my own and I tend to perform much better when I'm given autonomy by leaders."? I could say "I didn't see a long term career path there, etc" but I was only there for 9 months and am worried they will think that's not enough time to realize that. Thanks so much for your video, btw! Super helpful :-)
