I do not understand why non Catholics view single lives of Priest abhorrent. Men know the choice they are making before entering Priesthood. It is their life, their choice. Priest devote themselves to our Lord which allow them to serve Him and us, performing Godly deeds. ✝️✝️✝️

I wish it could be a choice for priests. Some would choose marriage and children and some would definitely choose to remain single and celibate. There is something very beautiful about both paths. As a faithful Catholic I do not think that women should be priests (no tradition of that) but do believe that priests should be allowed to marry and have a family since it was allowed in the early church (first 1000 years or so until East/West split?) and still is in the Orthodox church (and Judaism too, with Rabbis marrying).

History - Priests were married until one of those Pope Gregories imposed celibacy. Married priests, struggling to support families, accepted housing & money from local nobles and lordlings in exchange for indulgences & dispensation from the sins the aristocracy wanted to keep committing eg. adultery. Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Awesome 💝, i am doing a service very high security and also blessed by good looking but i never feel to be married.Because when JESUS Call's It's unique no one or nothing of this world can fall any impact on it if it really comes from LORD 💝.i have felt it so i have shared.For True lover of JESUS nothing of this World attract but only the LOVE and PRESENCE of JESUS Attracts.It should not be explained but to be feeled 💝

I'm Catholic and I'm in favor of allowing priests to get married. If it was good enough for St. Peter, it's good enough for today's priests.

They are "married"/ desolved into the church militant and the church triumphant. They attempt to live bodily and soulfully united. There is no paralysis for a persona Christi. Only learning to feel, heal, and care for body of Christ.

because having kids kicks in your survival mode up a notch what makes you more greedy, as your persona is now not 1 but 2, 3 or 6, and there will be situations like there was in the middle ages where the famlies of the priest and cardinals where a huge financial burden on the church. Other then that the job of a priest done correctly leaves no time to raise a family and be an hands on father one role is going to suffer.

It is nowhere in the Bible that Jesus required his Apostles cannot be married. Celibacy, especially in younger priests can lead to sinful behavior. Priests should be able to marry if they do chose. Their spouse could actually be a helpmate to them in their calling.

but what do you say about priests could marry until the year 1100? I mean if we are to follow the ancient tradition then you should marry right?

The research I did, said the reason priests do not marry is that in the early church the oriests had to abstain from sex the night before.services& as the congretation grew they had more & more services & les & less sex, the wives were complaining of no sex so to solve the problem they were required not to marry.

Christ himself was Celibate I understand what is being said but comparing yourself to Christ in this way obviously isn’t reasonable for most people.

I was once told that Catholic Priests can't marry because if they were to die, and his wife (and possibly childern) were living with him in a house provided by the diocese, they would have to kick out the widow and childern to house a new priest and they didn't want that to reflect badly on the church.
