I really enjoyed this video because I love all things "home." I'm happiest when I'm home, and I love the opportunity for creativity that your own space provides, like choosing the paint colors, for example. It was fun to listen to you speak about your home because it's obviously important to you. I feel the same way!

I loved this video! My home was built over 200 years ago, but I love it. My husband has passed now, but I can still remember him sitting in his chair in the living room, watching our gas fireplace, and saying to me, "I like our home, I really do." It's warm and cozy, and suited us just fine. I love crawling into bed at night and feeling cozy and safe, with my little dog on her bed on a chest at the foot of the bed, and she always joins me in my bed in the morning for a few more hours of sleep after going outside to do her thing at 7:00 am. And at night if she feels lonely. I have lived here for almost 38 years, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else, with all the good and bad. It's home.

Our home is my happy place…not perfect, but it’s us and we love it!

Yes, changing our mindset is more important than changing our homes. I really like your tiles; they look very high end and original.

😂 One of my fondest and clearest memories of the homes I have lived in is actually the decor, because my mom was an artist and involved me in selecting colors and fabrics for my room. And I love that my friends still remember her flamingo colored kitchen 50 years later, and comment with disbelief at the color that she allowed me to paint my room! I have similar beautiful memories of preparing my daughters nursery, and her different rooms growing up, and letting her pick outlandish colors! Now she's all grown up and I love to see what she does in her own home as she buys and sells vintage furniture and decorates her home in her own vibrant way! She had water damage in her home as well as I did, and it tickles me pink that after getting new lower cabinets courtesy of insurance, she embraced her old upper cabinets with vivid orange paint and unique brass door pulls! not everyone can pull off something so daring!

SO true! It was quite a shock to me at first when we moved to this ALL WHITE PAINT apartment that we rent, but now I love it! I've learned to accessorize with pops of colour and wood tones to make the place look great, and now feel that having a wall colour would make it more overwhelming or hide my treasures instead of letting them pop like in a gallery 💗 I'm definitely sticking to neutral, pale wall colours wherever we live in future, although I do love that dark teal&terracotta bathroom of yours!👏🤩

You have an absolutely beautiful home. I love the sort of teal color you used in the one bathroom, but all your bathrooms are wonderful. My house does not have a basement but I have embraced that feature especially not having to worry about water in the basement. Plus my washing machine and dryer are just off of my kitchen and very accessible. Also, another way not to fill a basement with junk. 🙂

Ahhh ❤ this was a good reminder for sure on how to love our homes and be grateful for what we have

The teal bathroom paint looks so much better with the terra cotta colored tile!

Very well put. When we moved in our current home, there were several things we didn't like but there wasn't money to change them right away. So we learned to live with it in the meantime and it was a great way for us to evaluate and think about what we really did like and what we hated. Made it so much easier to make decisions when it did come time to remodel.

I have an oddly renovated split level. We have redone a lot of the odd things that others have done before us and have made it into a home that we love. We get compliments all the time and I love my house- especially since I paid it off in 2021! I have no plans on moving until I can't take care of it anymore!!!!

I lived without heat gas & running water for 2 years. I’m grateful I’m now living in a beautiful place that’s super comfortable w all utilities 🌷

I remember all the decor going back to when I was four years old. I sixty six years old. I can still draw out the floor plans. I remember the flooring the windows the counter tops..especially well from middle childhood.

Such great reminders! We live in a throw away, convenience society. I often see videos of removing good quality structures in homes just because the color or style is dated or unattractive to the homeowner, only to see it back in style years later. We need to focus on comfort not comparison. I like cozy and unique, not cookie cutter.

Yes I love this philosophy. I’ve only rented all of my life, and that has taught me that you can make any place look beautiful and make it your own, even when it wasn’t what you would have picked out yourself

Absolutely love the used brick on the wall and running up the stairs! Very unique!
