I didnt even realize there was good meat in the legs, THANX for that tip. Fun fact, west coast lobsters in general dont have claws. (Im pretty certain, anyway) I grew up there, san diego, been diving and fishing for lobsters since childhood, also buying em at the store. Never once saw one with claws. Except for Vons grocery back in the 90's. They DID have clawed bugs in a tank with rubber bands around their claws.

brotha, how i’ve always done it is twist the shell off before you cook, break the antenna off 2” above the base, stick the antenna up the poop chute backwards then pull out. all the tube will come out. then boil just the tail till almost done. cut down the middle, butterfly it over the skillet on super hot. season however and eat

Have you had Lionfish? You should do a taste comparison to different types of lobster.

My stepdad used to poach these sometimes. He was a surfer, and once or twice a year, he'd grab a couple while he was surfing.

Never had one of those that I know of...I hear they catch really big spiny lobsters in North Carolina.

Steamed means they don’t touch the water. Simmered means they are submerged in the water. Only point in salted water would be if they are simmered. Not steamed.
