I have used 2.5 feet long 50/50, 4 mm thick angle iron to make this sheet metal bender.

Thanks for posting this. I just started making this now with a few changes. You have a 2 piece hinge, I’m using a 3 piece hinge. The center pin will be removable so I can separate the 2 angle iron pieces.
The top clamp part that is held down with bolts I’ll be milling the leading edge so it’s flush with the metal that’s being bent so I can get a sharp angle at the bend, not a rounded one.

Nice work. You don't need a lot of stuff to make what you need. A center punch made out of an old threading tap👍👍.

Weld a washer or metal plate on top clamp bar under where screw down is. Makes for better clampdown. Have made many benders like this in past..Plus weld some spinner handles so dont need an allen key to tighten it up

Weld a small rod over the hex bolts to make them wing nuts, easier than using an allen key

I think the piece which sits on top eith the springs is wrong. It does not provide a bemding point at all. But you could just grind it flat (45 degrees) so it sit flush. That would be a huge improvement.

Muy bueno, sencillo y con poco material. 3 Angulos, uno más pequeño y dos perfiles cuadrados con dos bisagras de soldar

Very cool. I'd like to make one with one important difference: make the hinge not in line with the bend. I often have to clad the exteriors of windows with sheet metal and the metal is often 1.5 meters or more. The length of your bender is perfect for portability, but if I could slide longer pieces through and make the bend gradually, that would be brilliant. I currently use a little hand bender and it takes forever.
