En Windows 11 ir a "Impresoras y Escáneres". Seleccionar la impresora con problemas. Click en "Propiedades de la Impresora", se abre una nueva ventana. Ir a la pestaña "Puertos". Seguramente esté marcado un puerto WSD que es el que genera los problemas. Click en "Agregar Puerto", seleccionar del tipo TCP/IP y click en "Puerto nuevo". Buscar en la pantalla de la impresora (tocando el icono de red o llegando a la sección red) el nombre de red de la impresora (en mi caso usé la IP de la impresora porque hice que el router le asigne una IP fija a la impresora). Dejar seleccionado este nuevo puerto en vez del puerto WSD. No puede ser que a esta altura haya que configurar una impresora HP en Windows 11 y el instalador no pueda hacerlo solo. En Android imprime sin problemas.

what is the correct port for my HP ENVY 4520 all in on series printer. I am able to print in color from my cell phone but not from my windows 10 computer. I have tried changing the port, but there are alot of available ports???

my HP ENVY 5660 PRINTER - on the port tag, it only shows HP ENVY 5660 printer name and it DO NOT have the option of USB001 Virtual Printer Port. how can I create a new port as USB001 Virtual Printer Port ?

It didn't work for me. I couldn't see any description that said usb or that other thing. I clicked a different port just to see what would happen and a window popped up which said 'Printer settings could not be saved. The remote procedure call failed.' I then had to click 'ok'. When I try to print it just says printer error, and when I run a scan it says incorrect port. It only started today after I changed the ink. Ink was crazy expensive too. You guys put gold in the ink or something?

Worked good! I was brave and had the computer add another port, which was a Tcip port, checked it off in the Printer Props., and it worked. Might be good to add that to your explanation that a TCIP port will work too if your WSD port doesn't work anymore. I thought you could only use the WSD port for a wireless connection. Funny things, computers are. :-)

I used to be able to print just fine though wifi, but recently it just prints to file. I checked ports and the printer doesn't have an IP/Network port only a print to file one. It had to have had one in the past right? because it used to work. Any solutions?

Did not help at all. The TCP/IP does not appear with my printer's name. You don't explain what to do is such a scenario. Also when trying to add the printer via windows, windows can't find it. I have to disconnect and reconnect the printer from the outlet every damn time. Also the power button doesn't do a thing, even when holding it 5/10/30 seconds. Never buying another HP again EVER.
And before you ask - its a DeskJet Plus 6400.
