Try using a "genuine" USB cable. I couldn't see Ports (COM & LPT) until I used the cable that came with an official GoPro

The Ports(COM&LPT) branch does not show two USB devices I have plugged in. It does show a device that has dedicated installed software. The other two devices are an RTL-SDR (software defined radio) and my iPhone 4. The phone is accessible in terms of images. The radio uses non-dedicated generic software. No COM number was chosen during installation.
Is there a way to determine the COM port? I can get the USB port and hub number.

open device manager

click on action

add legacy hardware

click on next

search for and install the hardware automatically(Recommended)

next

it will detect that com port and next

double click com port

next

next and finish

now you will be able to see that com port... :)

If you don't see the COM ports listed in device manager that means you are missing a driver for your cable...Once you download the driver the COM ports will instantly appear.
