Can you please make a video about how to do a clean install when Windows 10 is out?

Upgrade also allow you to revert back to the previous window if something major is broken.

Thank you so much for making this video. I'm already backing up my files.

It would be awesome if we could have a checklist or something to choose which programs come along for the upgrade, and then everything else is wiped.

Upgrade vs clean install
Upgrade is easier and if u have a newer pc like mine and have many titans dont worry about clean install
And clean install for dem people with a potato

I've installed upgrade/clean installs over 20 times this past summer for clients.

While the upgrade installs tend to appear just fine right after the upgrade install, I've noticed that those install tend to start breaking after a few days/weeks. It's worth just doing the clean install in the first place.

WHen he ssaid that we are gonna have a hard time i instantly thought of the sky instructor from south park that says "You're gonna have a bad time"

The best thing is to do the upgrade and see how it works. If it seems fine, keep it.

However if you experience major problems that are impossible to fix, do a clean install.

If the upgrade works, you've saves yourself a world of hurt that a clean install causes, namely having to reinstalling all your apps. If you have a lot, its a real pain and should be avoided at all cost.

My upgrade was painless. Windows 10 automatically switched everything over and installed windows 10 drivers. It automatically deleted old files and actually freed up space on my SSD. All my steam games and settings stayed the same. Loving 10 so far!

There's a really big misconception about clean install. When you perform a clean install, nothing is technically 'wiped out'. Everything, including your programs and documents, is moved to a folder named Windows.old". It's most probably located in the drive where the previous version of Windows was installed. You can recover your files and documents from there but the programs might not work. So you would have to install the programs.

Thanks. I was going to just upgrade, but now I'll do a clean install. I already have some files backed up, but I need to move more stuff to my other laptop before I install windows 10. Guess I know what I'm doing today
