The main reason I wear crappy old thrifted sweats at home is because I don't care about them. I can eat ramen and not worry about the splatter factor. Lets face it, as a bachelor I'm a slob when I'm home alone. It would take real effort to get over babying my nice new loungewear.

Thanks for the video. I struggle with this same topic. When i go out for a quick run to the grocery store or to pick up takeout food, im in nice fitting sweatpants in winter and gym gear in apring and summer.

Reminds me a bit of the rise of the “easy” pants and drawstring pants. They look like trousers or chinos but they’re pretty much just elevated sweats.

It's sort of funny the main reason I don't have any lounge wear because when I get home I just continue to wear my jeans or whatever. I don't change right into pajamas or whatever right away. I put on pajamas before bed.

I do think I could use some lounge wear for like lazy weekend mornings. Like sometimes I get up and shower but not sure what exactly my plans are for the day so don't wanna put on clothes yet, but also feels weird to put pajamas back on.

I think this is a neat examination of how we see different types of clothes, from a design and fabric standpoint.

I don’t think we need to police every choice people make in what they wear where, tho, that shit gets toxic in a hurry, and stifles innovation in fashion, especially from less elitist subcultures, from where we get a ton of inspiration.

No one innovates in fashion following the “rules” or doing what they’re told, heh. Still, it’s a fun examination of how we delineate these tropes.

The jogger really began to falter 2013/14, it took a few years for them to be reintroduced into men's casual wear. However, I'm under the impression that anything with jogger "cuffs" only belongs in your home or the gym.

As I'm watching, it reminds me that a lot of the things we do and don't do is psychological and/or sociological. Fashion and style is for the most part not subject to hard rights and wrongs. Like, if you tell somebody a lie it's a possibility for it to lead to actual harm. However, if you dress up your lounge pants to make people think that they are more dressy than they are, you aren't likely to cause anybody any real harm. Having said all that, those so-called loungewear pants look way better than sweatpants. I'd like to give him a try if they made him in my size but, that's a subject for a different day.

I saw someone wearing the indigo Apres pants on BART in San Francisco the other day. Like you, I did a double-take, but SF is so casual that you can definitely get away with it.
