Taylor Stitch is to thank for a lot of guys getting into this style. Their tops have never fit me, but that’s my own gripe. Great breakdown Jake!

I have met the founder and heard the story, I'm convinced. And as a result I've been a customer for the past couple of years and am very pleased with most things. I'm a big guy and sizing can be hit or miss for me, but when it hits it hits right. Quality materials, thoughtful company. Thanks for the review!

I'm glad you looked into the ethics of their business practices! For the amount of money their stuff costs, I'd definitely want the assurance that it's good quality and treating the workers fairly. I like a lot of TS stuff. It's cool and unique, and the price point is manageable for the tier of quality they're in. I do wish they made some bigger sizes for the more fitted shirts and jackets.

Wish they had a more expressive collar roll on their button downs. Otherwise their products look good. I have a roped denim western shirt and their higher waist straight chinos. Both are sturdy and well made.

It's funny you mentioned the Buzz Rickson's chino buttons, I was just complaining about my buttons today, and needing to do reinforcement sewing.

Taylor stitch is great for texture, i dont care about prints or patterns so much, but if you've got great colorways and textures then you've got me

I ordered a sachiko shirt from them out of curiosity and I've been fascinated by it. Really cool material with nice style. Awesome quality, well curated selection. I'm on their mailing list purely for the eye candy of their materials lol.

I have a few of their pieces. I’m a big fan of their shirts and a lot of their outerwear, especially the Ojai. Their pants are just too slim for me to wear regularly. I hope they come out with a roomier, higher rise, straight fit at some point so I can give their pants another go. I have one of the linen cotton tweed shirts as well and it’s one of my favorites.

I used to be really into TS, like, 8 years ago (back when I could easily afford their stuff). Their Heavy Bag line is top notch. I would’ve been more into their shirting if they got rid of their “California” collar style. It’s a 70’s-style larger collar on a more modern style cut. Just never really jived with me and my proportions. It’s actually what has held me back from buying more into their stuff (and, yes, I’m aware they have other color styles on their oxfords).

They did make the Palmer shirt in two other colors. One called Dried Guajillo, which is a rust color with a dark brown collar and piping. The other was called Dune, which was a light off white/tan with a rust colored collar and piping. I'm very fair skinned like your wife because my family is actually from Jalisco too, Tlaquepaque to be exact, so the darker rust colored shirt works best for me. The Dune color doesn't get much wear because it's pretty much the exact color of my skin. You're right though, it's a great shirt. It gives sort of 50's bowling shirt vibes but with a touch of southwest.

I have been buying shirts and sweaters from TS for years. They all look great and the fits a perfect for my body.

I completely agree with the fabrics. The fabrics are some of the best. I have a couple shirts and some light weight corduroy trousers. I find the patterns a bit tight in the shoulders for me, some loose threads but not bad, and the bottoms are too slim. The major advantage is that my wife will buy from their website for me for Christmas. She is hesitant to buy from Japan, though she has. She did like ordering from UES. Yeah, I’ll probably end up with more of their stuff, and it is a good deal on sale.

Quality seems good I have a few pieces, but they don’t fit right. With the tops like long sleeves or jacket, I can’t put both arms straight out in front me. I’m not big, I wear their xs. Their fit is just off

have two of their golden bear jackets, a Harris tweed chore coat made in UK, some waxed cotton barrbour style coats usa made, abraham moon hunting coat uk made, and a colab stetson, denim jackets and jeans usa made, pleased with all these. glad i grabbed those before the shift to China. cant support them anymore. but you are correct at least they don't hide the nearly complete shift to outsourcing.

Isn’t Grant Stone similarly forthcoming about where their boots are manufactured?

Great video. I agree, Taylor Stitch is doing great things with fabric, and for my body type the fits are generally very good. I’m not sure that all of their pieces are the best value. I like all the pieces I own, especially their Foundation chinos.

It’s called fair trade man, they use fair trade factories and companies overseas. People assume that all clothes overseas are from sweatshops.

Great video! Loooong time Taylor Stitch stan here and agree with pretty much everything you said. For me I probably over-indexed on TS stuff for a long time, then pulled back to go and explore other brands, but some of my most hard-wearing pieces that I reach for at least 1-2x a week are from them.

My issue with Taylor Stitch is that their clothing doesn’t fit anyone with an ounce of muscle on their body. It’s not a quality issue, but a fit issue.
