I remember when Mcdonalds had landscaped property and flowers outside. Now its just trash and hospital decor inside and out.

It's way off topic but the Ronald McDonald House Charity did absolutely amazing things for my family in the early 1990's. They gave my brother and my parents nice upscale hotels to stay at, free meals at restaurants other than McDonald's, and took care of transportation to and from the hospital and the hotel. ZERO dollars out of pocket and no stings attached. I will forever give my change to the Ronald McDonald House Charity no matter if I shop there or just give my yearly donation.

All the McDonald's characters should return. It gave the place a distinct feel. Plus McDonald's was more fun for kids when they had the cool playgrounds and when the toys in the happy meals were actually of good quality. Being a kid and going to McDonald's was awesome in the late 80s. Now it's just another fast food place.

That's pretty freaking ominous ngl

Having McDonald’s without Ronald is like having Disney without Mickey.

Edit: Some of these replies scream “I’m an edgy 14 year old who’s trying way too hard to sound cool.”

I miss those commercials. With Ronald, Grimces, Hamburgeraler, and the fry kids. Those were great. I remember as a kid, there eas a McDonald's that had statues of them in the restaurant.

Joker: "I here to fill the position."
MCDs: "Are you a good clown?"
Joker: "Hold my 🍟 . . . And watch." *Joker laugher*

I met Jack (The Ronald we all knew from TV)
My dad was Ronald McDonald for upper Indiana and lower Michigan from the early 90s to 2010 or so. The creepy clown fad had nothing to do with it. Ronald would go to every elementary school in the 2-3 hours drive area and do shows about how to not swallow chemicals under the sink, or about recycling, or about reading etc. my dad also did parades in all the small town festivals. It was a full time job, and I remember him working long hours. He was walking and talking advertising, and this is when McDonald’s was a restaurant. It put food on the table and then some for my family, and every year McDonalds would pay to fly all the Ronald’s from around the US and abroad to Florida or Vegas for a meeting to catch up on upgrades to their makeup, new shows they would do, etc. it was a proper program.
They fased the program out when they decided to become more of a drive through feeding trough. Late stage capitalism sort of deal. A real shame.

Fun fact, the very first Ronald McDonald was Willard Scott, famous weatherman.

Clowns used to be so much more than just “scary” 3AM video mascots.

They used to actually mean something. And the talent that they would pull out just to entertain people was amazing.

I remember going to the circus when I was really young and seeing a clown for the first time.

It was genuinely mesmerizing and super beautiful to see the actors/acrobats doing these crazy tricks that blew my mind.

And so when the whole “killer clown” thing started happening I remember one of these “killer clowns” came up to me and my friends to prank is for their YouTube channel. And I just looked at them and thought to myself “clowns used to mean something. thanks for reducing them to a simple trend.” And walked away. Not even scared, just disappointed.

There is actually still a building called "The Ronald McDonald House" in Galveston, TX. Its a fundraiser for sick kids and a nice place for families to stay when they have sick kids being treated.
