You should do this in a home grade machine like Barista Express because the steam power does not spin the milk anywhere near as quick as your commercial machine

Great wee video Luke, when I was at my cousins restaurant in Auckland many moons ago, he taught me how to steam milk. As you know I now have the Linea Mini, it’s just great for steaming my milk, my wife tried it one day, geez it was like an ice cream, sadly we didn’t have any cones😂😂.
Kind regards,

With a la marzocco machine it’s easier to rest the base of the milk pitcher on the drip tray at an angle and leave around half a centimetre below the line on the steam wand. Then turn on the knob just enough to make a vortex (not maximum) . Then there’s no need to even move the pitcher up and down, and it makes less mess on the steam wand as well compared to what you showed

I visited the shop today, I got a couple of FW, one with Champion, other with The Fix. Latte art was perfect, coffee and biscuits were delicious. I missed you again as you were hosting La Marzocco.

Thanks for making this video. I think this has been the most helpful video I’ve seen for milk steaming.

I am building my first coffee shop, and I have been very interested in the automatic milk dispenser that used to be there in your shop. Why have you gotten rid of it? I was coming here tonight to ask where you got it. Thank you for all your amazing videos!

Great video and useful tips. Consider fixing the wb on that second angle though😊

Hi! I've watched quite a few of your videos on milk, but I haven't heard you covering steam wand tips and specifically difference in technique depending on the nozzle count. There certainly should be a difference in technique between single nozzle tip and 4 nozzle tip?

How many holes do you have in your steam wand? I’m thinking this makes a difference in whether you need to put it at an angle or not. I just tried this with my two hole wand and it didn’t create a vortex at all, but if I hold it at an angle it does

Hi I have a sunbeam mini barista it works but it dosnt because it's not a high end machine I have tried many times to get the right. Bit compared to our big machine at church. It has more power than my machine at home.

Our office commercial Gaggia machine is way too strong to stretch correctly - the whole steaming is done in 5-7 seconds, even with following everything correctly with cold milk and pitcher. This causes the temperature to be reached in those few seconds but that's not enough time to integrate correctly, so the result is way too foamy. Any idea how to work with that to make it less foamy?

5:00 you're using the same cloth to clean the steam wand and the bench!!
