What is DAX - data analysis expressions Power BI

In this video,we will look to understand DAX
1. Data Analysis Expression(DAX)
2. DAX is a formula language similar to the formula language in excel that uses functions
3. Create new information/column/measures/calculation/formula
4. DAX usage may depend on design pattern
Work could be pushed to Power Query
Work could be pushed to Database
Work could also be pushed to an ETL tool
5. Great for time intelligence for example YTD,MTD, parallel period comparisons
6. Enhances the data model

In the previous video, we looked at the activities involved in data modelling as we explore enhancing the data model with Power BI.
