DAX CALCULATE Function Made Easy to Understand (just one word)

The CALCULATE function is THE most powerful function in Excel Power BI and DAX. Many struggle with this function and get frustrated because it's difficult to picture what's going on. In this video I'm going to explain CALCULATE in simple terms and with a single word! I use Excel and do the explaining with a Pivot Table (Power Pivot), but the same concept applies to Power BI as well.

I am prepping for the DA 100 exam and both classes I have taken have not given very good explanations of the CALCULATE function. They expect you to understand it from what they give you. Very, very nice ! An average difficult concept was explained with simple words, and visual aids. This is a very good foundation, anyone can start building more and more nested functions, within CALCULATE. You did it in the right way, starting from basics. This was exactly what I needed for some data analysis at work - comparing several sites' time-based performance that was a percentage for each, along with the overall organization on the same pivot-chart.
