I recently realized that I can do… whatever I want in Minecraft. And as dumb as that sounds, since it’s a given- I’ve always worried about playing it the way “you’re supposed to”. I jumped into a world, found a village, and I’m adding to it. Literally pretending I’m a higher being helping their town grow with my powers and build them a safe and semi beautiful town they can thrive in. I’m 21. I haven’t pretended and played like this in years and it’s made me so happy.

Never even thought to give the village lore, I’ll do that next!

Yesterday I was helping my nephew with a school project where he had to make an island with a town and 3 sources of electricity. I finally realized how fun it is to build because of the creativity aspect. We had a blast and I am reminded once again Minecraft is not only a survival game.

These videos are weirdly nostalgic to me. It reminds me of the lego builds I would make as a kid, packing in little details and secrets around every corner. It's a floodgate of emotions that only feels like the soft waves of a river. It reminds me of the unabashed sense of fun and creativity that everyone has felt at one point in time. It makes me feel at home.

What I mean to say is thank you. This video genuinely made my day and brought back something that I didn't know that I had lost. Thank you.
