This was the only thing I did in terms of exercise today.

The full, kind of boring +3 minute video is posted to my FitPro Hawaii YouTube channel.

I was hoping to hold the bottom position of a 12 kg./26 lbs. Goblet Squat for 5 minutes, but I caved at 3 minutes.

I had never done this before, so 3 minutes was challenging but it felt right.

I never look at this a holding a squat or horse stance by pushing down into the earth with my legs.

Instead, I spend the entire time exploring ways to spread the load to as many parts of my body as possible.

If I can do this, I feel like I’m suspended in a hammock and my muscles feel like they’re stretching, not straining.

My arms and shoulders will burn and get tired if I don’t breathe into my chest in a way that keeps it constantly extended and expanded, which allows me to support the weight with my lats and back muscles.

Holding the Squat for longer durations a few times can teach you more about this movement and how your body connects and relates to it.

Eventually, there’s nothing left to stretch and shifting my center of gravity becomes less effective as all the muscles are tired and changing recruitment strategies fail.

These are nice to to later in the day because they make a difference later, but they don’t get me so jacked up that I can’t sleep like a FOOL.

I hope you have a festive Friday 🎉

Much aloha🌺

Jesus! Goblet squat is putting it lightly! That was a damn horse stance, and an intense one at that. Love what you do sir!

So nice. And inspiring. Thank you.
Edit i did the 5 mn ...just in little chunks with some 1mn rest. I can't believe how present and awesome i feel. Thank you sir. It's like a yogy master and a shaoling monk showed me the way.
I dont want to be big. I want to be healthy at 100 years old 😅❤
Love you brother from an other mother

Good work Bill ... I'm sure that effort required a good stretch afterwards. I will try for 2 minutes since I'm 6'5" different leverage coming out of bottom position

Bill when you 'only' do something like this for the day, how do you feel? Like is it a nice recovery thing or a 'dang I could have done more I wish I had time' you're in such great shape and it's always really impressive to me how little you do relative to other fitness pros on the internet.

Hello Bill, thanks a lot for all your content, it's really inspiring !
Quick question : I would like to know if you have a video / article that explains the frequency / number of reps / rest time / number of exercices per workout you perform during a session ? I searched but did not find. Thanks again from France !
