I’ve been suffering with mid and lower back pain for over a decade. A bunch of scans (including MRI) and tests showed nothing. Very slight signs of some deterioration of the discs between the lower vertebrae, but with my weight, height, and lifestyle, they’re in better condition than would have been expected. Nevertheless, back pain.

So by word of mouth I find this guy who deals with muscles (biomechanics I think it’s called, not sure, but heard it somewhere) and after a bunch of tests very similar (and including) to the one shown here, he pointed out my glutes “not working” (he dumbed it down for me) and suggested the same exercise. Guys. It’s a godsend! I’d been in and out of sick leaves, popping opiates for the pain for the better half of the past 6 months. I did this exercise ONCE and felt immediate relief. Been consistently doing it for about a month now and I’m so insanely happy to have that pain go away! I literally called the guy with tears in my eyes to express my gratitude.

If you do glute activation warm ups before squatting you definitely feel the difference when you go to squat

This is extremely helpful information. My gym teacher once told me that chronic lower back pain is primarily centered around weak glutes and weak abs

I do double leg bridges on leg days and it really helps wake up your glutes. I noticed much faster growth
