I have a tip for journey mode players.
Some things need less items to research than the items needed to craft it. For example, gems require 15 to research, but gemcorns require 5. That might sound obvious, just grow the gemcorns, but bear with me.
If you happen to find the Shimmer biome, you can UNCRAFT the researched item to get an infinite amount of the items crafting materials, for example, it takes 99 snowballs to research it fully, which is around 10 snow blocks. You can uncraft the snowballs back into snow blocks and research the full 100.
Or, for critters that require 5 of the same kind to research, just stick them in a terrarium, which requires 1 caged critter to research, then shimmer them back out of the cage to research the 5 you needed. Same goes for any critter statues you may naturally find.

TL;DR, Use the Shimmer alongside Journey Mode's research ability if possible. It may be cheaper to craft an item, research it, then decraft a bunch of it using Shimmer, and THEN research the crafting materials used.

#3 gets a lot better, too. You can use a void bag with a piggy bank with a safe with a defenders forge. And I'm probably forgetting something!

Entering early looks like a call for death, but it actually is good if you can last long. You can receive and craft Solar tablets that summon the eclipse. This can be done as soon as you reach hardmode. You don’t need to kill a mech boss for it to work, so you’ll get a water shell, a stone that boost your night activity, and a better pair of wings than anything else pre mech (except fishron wings)

A little tip for the nurse and arms dealer: If you don't have the arms dealer yet you can also use the merchant, he loves the nurse too, and by having just 2 houses (For him and the nurse) the happiness will be just enough so you can get most biome pylons
