Gixxers never lose compression. They get wrecked before they die. As a kyle, I have but 60, 000 miles on my 07 gsxr600. Not 1 issue.

My 2002 fireblade has been such a reliable machine. Damn I love that bike! Would like something newer someday, but I don't care about the tech upgrades. Plus, she is in phenomenal condition at 22 years old!

Desmo service on the Diavel comes in at 36, 000 miles.
Also, the ZX-14 is VERY reliable, especially since it shares so much with the Kawasaki Concours.

Yep-the L twin, air cooled, 2 valve Duck engine is very reliable. 👍🏻🏍️

Original Aprilia/Rotax v990 60° Vtwin. Owned 3. Currently have a 2001 rsvr track bike with 22, 000 miles. Valves never needed adjusted on the 2 street bikes. Sold those 2 street bikes with over 70, 000 miles. Not as powerful as a modern liter bike but I've never been enamored with 200 horsepower specs anyways. Similar reliability to the suzuki sv650. I had a Vstrom 650 with 67, 000 when I sold it. The notes from all valve checks showed it never needed a shim from the previous owner.

Great Video Thx for it, the focus here seems to be on newer bikes with huge power numbers most people don't need on the street to get to Grandma's in a hurry, almost any litre bike or above built from like 1980 in japan are very reliable an go faster than you want to try to duck under a moose on, hard to fault a busa for a single guy to take a road trip on really .

I bought my first big bike two years ago, a Ducati Monster 937cc and although the engine gets too hot too fast in Lisbon I just love the bike and can’t think about another brand anytime soon.

Correction: the V4 engine on Ducatis don’t use desmo valve-trains anymore. The V2 still does.

Off topic but I just got my A license in Europe today. I started watching this channel like 5 years ago and it took me a while (knew that if I pass the exam I will buy motorcycle) because I was trying to be reasonable. I think I have enough knowledge and I am mature enough to start riding. Mostly thanks to you Yamm. Thank you for all the tips. Gonna get a Duke 390 next year :)

I used to work for a motorcycle wholesale dealer and we got in a turbocharged ZX14 with nitrous one time. Completely built engine as well. The thing is, you couldn't ride it across the parking lot hardly without fouling a plug. It was wide open or nothing.
