Has anyone thought that without a physical home button you don't know which way the phone is situated at a glance or by feel? There are small nuances that we read into physical shapes that let us know without looking or more quickly. That is why physical buttons are coming back for certain operations in a car. You CAN go too far with the less is more notion of Industrial Design. Think about how many times you have tried to press the camera hole on your phone or IPad thinking the home button was there, now multiply that by a hundred white no cue from a physical indent of the button.

#1: I also think you will be able to rest your finger on the home button on the new iPhone.
#2: As far as I know, the S8 also recognises pressure in the bottom part of the screen, so you can press the bottom section of the screen even with the nav. bar being "hidden".
#3: The fact that Apple only has one button has turned from intuitive to confusing in the recent years. Many people don't even know "Reachability" exists and it's very difficult to explain the difference between tapping and pressing the home button...

I like to think that Apple have been waiting to do their redesign in order to really wow people with some groundbreaking technology this year. Everybody else are narrowing down the bezels and making compromises like touch home buttons and fingerprint sensor on the back. Apple wants to get this right from the start like they always do.

I like your videos because you truly understand that Apple products are costly for a reason. The technology they put in the phones is really brilliant. Yet, it is so ridiculously simplified for fluent user experience that people don't even know that some very intuitive to use feature is also hell lot of complex to implement. The superior user experience on an iPhone can never be matched by any other phones like Windows, Blackberry, Android or even Nokia.. Each and everything on an iPhone is put there after complete testing and with some purpose. Not like Galaxy phones where they just put everything they have in the phone and leave it to the users to figure out how the features work, if they work at all. Also, Apple always makes sure that third party apps support and use the new features. Quick example is how most major developers have support for 3D touch on iOS but even Google doesn't support all the gesture controls on Galaxy phones. Android fanboys are very quick to call you iSheep but they are just jealous. Just ignore them and keep up the good work! 👍🏻

Think about it though, 3D touching on iPad when in the keyboard will flip it over and give no feedback. No feedback when laying flat

I wish they would slightly curve the screen where the home button is. That way there would be a physical imprint for the button And you could (possibly) still have the screen there. That would also help if the display were off
