How To Quickly: Bypass A Broken/Non-Responsive iPhone Home Button

Has your iPhone home button stopped working? Need a workaround so you can keep using your phone until you have time to get it fixed or replaced? Well, watch this video or do the following:

1. Reboot your iPhone or touch the edges of the home button until you can get to your home screen.
2. Tap settings - General - Accessibility - Assistive Touch
3. Turn on Assistive Touch
4. Tap Customize Top Level Menu
5. Tap the "-" button until only one icon is left
6. Tap that last icon "custom" and then tap home
7. Drag the new onscreen home button to the position of your choice and use it just like you use the real home button.

My home button (naturally) hit a small rock when it fell out of my pocket yesterday, rendering it useless. The only way I could switch between functions was to turn it clear off and turn it back on again. That worked well enough for making a phone call or using the text feature, but switching around could not be done. Although I ordered a new phone last night, I was afraid this lack of functionality would make it harder to transfer data from the old phone to the new one. Then I found this tutorial. I had to take a couple of extra steps to obtain this new button, but IT WORKS! Once I get the new phone, I can make the transfer at my convenience, not as a "have to". Bro TYSM, I found my phone after a year of it being in a drawer and the button didn’t work, so I tried this. Assistive touch saved me

Mine doesn’t work but I figured out away
1. Swipe right for the camera to pop up.
2. Then, click the photo on the left hand corner if you already have one and if not, just click for a photo
3. Then, view the photo and click share and click the books icon.
4. Once it’s open in the book, swipe left and you will see the screen as if you double clicked the homescreen.
5. Finally, don’t click on any of the history brower but click the bottom white space close to the homescreen and voila it will take you to the home screen just like that!
6. Please no hate comment. I know my english is not that great. I am just sharing how it work for me. P.s it will not work if your phone is locked with passcode

This happened on my old iPod 4... Everyonce in a while I turn it on and forget about my home button being broken (since I currently use and iPhone SE... I swear I'm the only person who has that phone anyway) I try pressing the home button just to remember it doesn't work.

This happened on my old iPod 4th gen, however luckily it still had a week left on its warranty when I took it to Apple so the whole iPod was replaced for free!

Calibrating your home button might make the home button work. Here's how to do it.
Navigate to, and launch one of the stock applications on your iPhone. If you don’t already know, the stock apps are things like weather, clock, stocks, settings etc (any that come as part of iOS).
When the app is launched, press and hold the Power button located at the top or side off the device until the ‘Slide to power off’ appears.
Press and hold the iPhone home button until the Slide to power off slider disappears and the application quits back to Springboard.
