I feel so bad for that French shiny hunter, imagine being the first ever to encounter something like that but missing out on getting it right at the final step through no fault of your own

a fun note about N's dialogue speed; it's actually it's own special speed that's even faster than the fastest text speed option. it's just barely noticable by eye

Another fact about N's text speed: as you mentioned, his text speed is fast, even if the settings have it set to slow or medium. If you have your settings set to fast, there is a special text speed that is even faster that only N can use

The Ghosts being unaffected by trapping moves and abilities thing has actually been a thing since X/Y. It was added at the same type as Electric's immunity to paralysis, Fire's immunity to burn, Ice's immunity to freeze and Grass' immunity to Powder and Spore moves.

The met location friendship boost is actually mentioned in-game in Crystal. After you beat Pokéfan Jaime on Route 39, she says, "I met my MEOWTH at night, right here on ROUTE 39. I'm not sure why, but it seems to like it when I train here. It seems to become friendlier by training here than anywhere else."

Been loving your obscure facts series, cant stand watching a “X# of Facts about Whatever that you didn’t know” and knowing every single one. It’s rare that I know the facts you share, which is refreshing for a Show/Game I’ve loved my entire life.

I remember seeing an interesting take on the Eevee evolution thing in Yellow. Beating your rival twice makes him evolve it into jolteon so he can finally have some advantage over pikachu since jilteon has volt absorb, countering pikachu. Losing both battles seems to make your rival cocky, so he evolves it into vaporeon to show he thinks he can still beat pikachu despite the disadvantage, losing one and winning one makes your rival take the evolution that has to particular advantage or disadvantage to pikachu. Kinda cool how it may show some kind of slight development of the rival through subtle gameplay

One thing I have always wanted added to the games is an ability for only Suicune. It's whole deal is that it purifies water, and purified water doesn't conduct electricity. So its ability would make it neutrally affected by electricity. With all the little details they put in over the years I'm kind of surprised they haven't already done this.

The “Ghost types can always flee” thing has actually existed since generation 6 🙂

The cool thing about the ghost type escaping, is that Aegislash can still retreat from an opponent with magnet pull

This is actually really good timing because recently someone of r/shinypokemon completed their hunt for the shiny groudon costume! They also documented every time their opponent had a shiny pokemon. Really cool to see their journey come to a close, although I wish it gained as much traction as Lizred's 200 phase shiny authentic sinistea hunt

Your take on PokeRus and its initial origin has sparked my interest. It had me thinking with my last Crystal playthrough that if there is more to it. Maybe I'm over-analyzing but I do think it's somewhat peculiar that the virus can be had after reaching Goldenrod. All I'm saying is that, by sea, Goldenrod is really close to Cianwood and Olivine...Olivine has a sick lighthouse Pokemon. Just north of the lighthouse after a very small route, there's a sick Miltank on a farm. Cianwood has a man running a pharmacy with intense medications.
Like I said, I could be way off. The two ways the Pokemon are healed with assistance from the player are different; though, the sheer closeness of the a sick Ampharos and Miltank might have some connection or story that has yet to be fleshed out.

On the topic of ghosts: In RBY, the unidentified Ghosts in Pokemon Tower will have the same color palette as the Pokemon that was meant to appear. Cubone and Marowak have a different color palette than Gastly and Haunter (the difference is subtle in Red & Blue however), and the Ghost spawned through the Missingno. glitch has Missingno.'s colors. Because the sprite palettes for Cubone/Marowak and Gastly/Haunter are updated in Yellow, this effectively means that the Ghost sprite comes in five different colors across all Gen I games.

I’ll bet the older mystery dungeon series games have a ton of secrets that have gone unnoticed- every time I replay them, I feel like I see something new. Today I played Explorers of Sky and found out you can get Eggs in Spinda’s Juice bar.

I'm not sure if it's true but apparently normal was going to be super effective on ghost types when you actually were able to hit them (after identifying them via foresight/odor sleuth). This would have been really fun to see in the games and would give the identify mechanic some pretty good use.

The Yellow Rival fact is an oddly well known one for this series

Wow the friendship boost and the unova alternative location are so cool. Never heard of either before. Thanks for the shout out, glad more people will know about the safari and bcc mechanic

As a kid I thought I was some kind of Pokémon expert. As an adult, I learn I've barely scratched the surface of Pokémon with every fact video I watch. Clicked the bell icon because from now on, I never want to miss a single video

Bro the shiny costumes being so rare and almost never found and some still not found after all this time is so so so badass. It's the essence of exploration and human perseverance.

Ghost-types always being able to switch out/run has been since gen 6. It was actually announced along with the type chart changes and Grass-types being immune to powder moves.
