I think the act of putting effort into making my food helps me from overeating a bunch of “girl-dinner” type meals. So usually it’s more of a mid-day thing for me when the kids aren’t home (I wfh but often don’t have time for a real lunch break) — so usually it’s a salad with some protein source, or kodiak cakes mixed with egg whites.

As a mom, it’s definitely a way of life to do a rushed meal especially for lunches. Dinners should always be planned and enjoyable though. A lot of times for me I will fry a few eggs and make egg tacos with salsa and cheese for my brunch. It’s really quick. Also I’ve been really enjoying the “no cow” protein bars. For extra protein.

I’m so happy I found you and your channel.. I’m 5ft and a mom and almoooost 40😅 I struggle being Skinny fat all my life…I got shape/curve I love em…but I struggle being toned. I just recently started strength training as in 2yrs only and staying consistent…🙏🏽♥️ being shorty is just different. So easy to gain and as I age not so easy to lose🥵🥴 I am a new subbie..thank you!😊

Made the best ‘girl dinner’ this eve…all in one pan: tinned tuna, tomato & basil pasta packet, red bell pepper, spinach. Then a raspberry protein yoghurt afterwards that I froze

Great video, April. I have never had 30g of protein in a meal 3 times a day until one year ago and I cannot believe how content I feel after eating. I am a sucker for all types of meat but if I'm in a pinch I just mix up protein powder (mine is 26g per scoop) with almond milk then add in fibre/fat from there. Amen to feeling FULL!!! I am also sure these girl dinner eaters DO NOT strength train...just maybe;)

Yessss! I always have a glass of milk whenever I eat a sweet, even if it’s like one chocolate square (or 3 lol) so I can combine that sugar with protein. I hear April in my head saying I need more protein hahah

Girl dinner is bag of frozen veggies [brocolli/ or mixed] a cup of some type of carbs [rice or pasta] and at least 30-40g protein....best girl dinners ever... I can whip this up in like 10 mins. lol The first meal might have been a "girl lunch" for me...at least get full avocado...I personally need volume! Spinach, kale or something lol

I've never heard of girl dinner before this is the first time I'm learning about this trend 😄😄 it looks funny and silly cute fun but hopefully these ladies healthier dinners more often
Since I found your channel I've been learning about eating a balanced meal it's been working so much with higher protein intake my carbs are definitely a good sources of fiber
But what about dried fruits can dried fruits be considered a healthy carb fiber source? I love raisins prunes and dates but are they too high in sugar to be a fiber food?

most of my meals are girl--I mean woman dinners. rotisserie chicken with rice and salad, cheesy pasta with deli ham and peas, beef or shrimp tacos, chicken sandwiches, yogurt with strawberries.
