Monoprice MP Select Mini Unboxing & First Impressions | My First 3D Printer!

After seeing ModBot mess around with all this 3D printing mess the past few years a printer finally came around which was dangerously cheap enough to justify a spontaneous purchase! A prebuilt and budget friendly printer from the folks over at Monoprice which aims to get everyone from a novice to a veteran to pick one of these things up! This printer is my first delve into 3D printing and although I have enjoyed using the printer so far the introduction into pumping out 3D objects has been rough. I would elaborate more but then again, there is a whole video about why I feel this way...

when you have letters or figures that pop out like that are extreuded you can pause your print and change the filament color. looks cool!

I got mine in April and have put in over 300 hrs of printing. tearing the platform down today to do an external mod for the wiring under the bed. Over time that wiring will break apart. My ground wiring was nearly sliced in half with 3ish wires keeping it all together. So its time to take it apart, put in a highly flexible silicone wire, new thermistor with some room to flex and cork board to help retain the heat on the build plate.
Very solid machine. I probably have purchased $200 in tools, parts and dehumidifier box for my PLA.

sorry to hear about your troubles, i got this sucker about a month ago and it worked flawless out of the box, once you get a good copy the thing is amazing for the price!! Note i dont even heat the bed and the tape is annoying so i just ordered a new print bed from printInZ, no more tape or hairspray . this printer and Fusion360 and cura !! :)

Coaster set turned out awesome. Also I wonder if your first printer was a return since a box was opened and you didn't have to level the bed maybe thinking someone had owned it and returned it. Just a thought

Mr mario ive gone thru a whole roll of fillament and still dont have my setting what setting are you using to get the best results i appreciate any advise

so funny i came up on one of these printers on offer up for $60 cause it kept blowing a fuse got it home and found the ground wire at the bed cut in halve i took the bed off and saw the bad design choice with the way the wires were ran and i came up with the exact same idea. seems as though genius minds do think alike right on with the reveiw happy printing.
