Imagine explaining to someone just four generations ago the amount of capacity we have to wage same-day warfare at a global level.

Enemy Leader: We need to defeat their bombing capability by destroying their runways. Where are their runways located?
Enemy Intel: They're located on the other side of the planet, sir!

“They must have an airbase near by!”
-“Sir they are half way around the world in Texas of all places.”

I like the story of the AC-130 better. A missile attack hit a base while the gunship was nearby. The crew found the origin of the attack, followed the trucks to the homes of the attackers, then leveled the place. To make it better the AC-130’s transponder was on any civilian could watch the gunship doing circles while doing this.

Keep in mind the US military could set up a Burger King in under a day if they wanted to

I’m told that the B1 is kept hidden away in the USA, and rarely deployed overseas, because the USA’s military strategists are aware that, every time a B1 is deployed overseas, it gives the radar systems of potential enemies an opportunity to “tune in” to the unique radar “footprint” of the B1. Sure, the B1 is a stealth bomber, but if you give an enemy radar system enough exposure to it, then such systems will eventually “learn” how to detect the presence of the B1. That’s why the B1 has to fly incredibly long distances, on account that it is kept safely “garaged”, back in the USA.

I live in Abilene Texas and see B1s taking off daily. Always thought that they were going on training missions but you never know when they might be flying half way around the world for a real mission.

Whole new meaning to “SAME DAY DELIVERY”

My favorite aircraft the B1 (BONE) bomber. I'm a truck driver, years ago I worked for a logistics company that was contracted by the military. I've made deliveries/pickups at numerous military bases and have seen B52's, B1's and other aircraft takeoff/land. I delivered to Dyees one day when there was B1's practicing touch and goes. I was a good distance away with hearing protection and got to stand and watch full afterburner takeoffs as well. The people at Dyees were very nice (I did have clearance) and let me watch (no pictures though). I can still remember the ground shaking and standing in amazement how an aircraft as big as the B1 could accelerate as quickly as it does.

I don't want to hear anymore sh*t talking the air force. Logistics wins wars.

I grew up in Abilene, tx. Some of my friends dads were b1 pilots. It was bizarre that they’d have a 36 hr deployment and be back in time for dinner, hanging out like nothing happened.
