The way you talk about the plans you had for this intro remind me of a GM for a TTRPG (D&D/etc.) who over-planned a session and is constantly worried they aren't doing their plans justice XD
And I can give you the same advice I'd give a GM, too - you're doing better than you think, as usual!

It was a really good and clean first episode of the LP. I dont think Ive actually ever seen a FFXIV LP where the streamer has prior knowledge of the game and they show people all the useful info especially about ARR 😊

Ive been so excited for you to return to XIV! You’ve been my favorite streamer for probably a decade and over that time I’ve fallen out of touch with GW2, so seeing you return to my current MMO of choice with your unique perspective is such a treat!

Brilliant concept and execution, WP! FFXIV is a game I've always been wanting to try (veteran GW2 player here), but just never really find the time for. I like how you really savour the experience, dive into the lore and explain practical stuff as well. I'm very excited to continue watching (just finished this part), and hope you'll have a lot of fun making this let's play!

...I probably would have caught the beginning live too, but I can't figure out how to get youtube to notify me about livestreams specifically. As it is now, I have to be check youtube manually, though it looks like I could have it send an email for *any* activity from someone, which I really do not need... I couldn't find any notification in the WP discord about it either.

We loved watching you play one of our favorite MMOs. I've played about fifty (50!) of the Final Fantasy games starting in 1987 and just recently came back to FFXIV. The lore, graphics and community will keep us coming back for many years. We eagerly anticipate your future vids. Thank you! ^_^

Just an FYI, make sure to enable enemy list - it will make it way easier to cycle between enemies and put DOTs on them. It is also really nice if you will play things like a tank, because you would be able to see all casts by enemies and select the correct target if anything needs to be interrupted. I know this feature does not exist in other MMOs out there, but it is extremely helpful and in harder content even mandatory to have in an easy spot to notice the casts (if you ever decide to delve into savage/ultimate).

Its been awhile since i last played 14, so this is a great refresher and seeing neat things that i missed on my playthrough !

Also you dont know how happy i am to hear you are not forgetting your ff12 playthrough, it was my first video i watched on your channel and finger cross it will be sometime soon. ( i know people are divided on 12 but i love that game , it was my first ff and you can never forget your first lol)

Didn't know you started this, glad i came across it. Love your playthroughs because of how thorough you are. Cant believe you haven't played FF9 though!

This will be a great perspective for you since you know a lot of what's coming but will have forgotten or not noticed a lot of the base world building from your first playthrough. This game rewards additional playthroughs and watches with strict adherence to its lore and lots of foreshadowing. Especially if you take the time to do the alliance and 8 man raid stories alongside the msq.

The narrator for ARR is David Lodge, the voice of Louisoix from 1.0. Louisoix was the primary quest giver in 1.0.
