The wife with the husband in the custody battle was a hard call to hear. Don't marry somebody whose child you won't fully embrace, in the home full time if it comes down to it, especially if that childs disabilities is a deal breaker for you. I don't know what would be worse, to know my partner committed financial infidelity to the sum of 200, 000 or that my partner doesn't fully embrace my vulnerable child 😔

I switched career choices from physical therapist because ultimately I wanted to start a family with my husband. I had dedicated years working in the field, getting observation hours for school in various PT settings, and building my resume, so it was a huge decision, but I have never regretted it after I took the dive. The price of school and years dedicated to the doctorate program in the end wasn’t worth putting my family on hold for three more years.

I think it's insane to think that having a family is not a deterrent to finishing the education required for physical therapy between childcare emotional drain and physical drain

It is far more intelligent to take out student loans in order to have a family and the education. Then when your earnings are higher to focus on paying the student loan off . I speak from experience! What woman wants to be that much older raising kids ? And what if it is difficult to get pregnant? You d have to be a woman to fully understand it.. The key is to be frugal upon graduation from your higher education to focus on paying off the student loans.

My goodness! The 28 year old Emily that aspires to be a physical therapist and wants to spend $100k to get an education to make $70k and she’s in a hurry because she wants a family.

Is she going to want to work to pay off her student debt after she has children? What if she decides she wants to be a stay at home mom but can’t because she went to school to be a physical therapist?
