Egg laying is painful. No such thing as a harmless egg.

Janet's vocalizations plainly show the discomfort of a hen laying an egg on 5/3/21. The egg that eventually passed was normal but she endured several hours of this to produce it, despite the non-steriodal anti-inflammatory that was given to ease her pain. She received a contracptive implant immediately after she passed the egg and she is happy and healthy now.

The Real Cost of Eggs:

Contemporary laying hens lay between 300 and 350 eggs a year and develop reproductive disease which is the cause of up to 90% of mortality in egg-laying flocks beginning at the age of 2 years old.
