How to PASS the ADI Part 2 Test | Rural / Country Roads
Short term learner insurance

If you are training to become an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) you will need to pass three tests, the 2nd test, ADI Part 2, is your opportunity to demonstrate your ability to drive to a high standard.

I have been a driving instructor for about 8 years and over those years I done the following to develop my driving skills:

- Passed my ADI Part 2 first time
- Passed RoSPA Advanced test, with a Gold grade, twice.
- Passed IAM Masters
- Passed DIAmond Advanced Test
- Passed Cardington Special Test
- Passed DriveTech Advanced Test

I hope to pass on my experience to your via this video, and hope this will improve your chances of passing your ADI Part 2 test at the first attempt.

This video will focus on making safe and legal progress on rural / country roads.

I create videos with tips and tricks to help you along side your driving lessons when learning to drive and ultimately to pass your UK driving test!

Even if you have passed your driving test you never stop learning, see what you can learn from my videos.

So, make sure you like, comment and subscribe to help me to continue to make these videos.

All videos filmed in the UK and based on information on rules and regulations here, therefore rules may be different in other countries.

Good video, you mentioned that the satnav has the volume turned down during the part 2 test? So you would have to rely on keeping a sharp eye on the satnav, i've got my part 2 tomorrow and I prefer to hear the voice directions, or have i got that wrong?

Please advise. If we go over the speed limit due to sudden change in road surface, will it be a fault ? Suppose the speedometer goes 1 or 2 up then limit ?
Secondly how close we have to drive on national speed limit? Its must match the speed limit ? Or can we drive less then national speed limit, for example 29 on 30. Or 39 on 40
It will be acceptable on clear roads ahead?
Kind regards

Thank you so much for your video really helpful. I passed my Adi part 1 now I'm preparing for part 2. I heard that I can't use cruise control unless the examiner ask me to use. Is that true? Please let me know thank you. Ram

Thank you for your videos, it’s been very helpful.I am training to Take ADI Theory test hopefully after lockdown, followed by driving test.
My question is, is there a limit on how many theory and ADI driving test I can take ? Just in case I fail my first..

Wouldn’t you argue that if you’re staying under 60 the majority of the time (of which I’m sure you’ll sight road conditions hazards etc) then surely same should be said for the 30 too; a significant number of hazards through town there such as drives, parked cars etc.
Personally I’d seek to maximise the National more; but that’s a judgement.

I feel that if people are nervous of grip and braking ability in a National, then they should have the same reservations in a 30, and yet they don’t.

Amazing how much the camera foreshortens distance there, often making look like your gap to cars was less than 2 seconds. But wasn’t. Nice. But if the roads were wet (not raining now) I’d suggest that this is a worthy mention as one should consider something between the 2 and 4 second gap. And that leads us to 15:11, if you had the 3 second gap then you wouldn’t end up with 1 second as the car in front seems to dither - apologies if that seems firm, but I’ll tend to give everyone space until it’s evident they’re getting on with progress, you find out in the first few seconds of following.
