16 NEW VILLAGERS You Can Get in Animal Crossing New Horizons

16 Brand New Villagers have been revealed for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, all of which will be arriving in the New 2.0 Update.

Some characters will be returning from the original games and others have never been seen before, including Ione, Sasha and Shino! All of these characters will be available via the Series 5 Amiibo Cards which are due to launch soon. Let's take a look at all of the new villagers which you'll be able to invite to your island when the update drops!

Sasha is the biggest mystery. I’ve seen people predict basically every personality for them. I hope they’re not peppy there’s already like 6 peppy bunnies. They’re adorable and I’m excited to see what personality they are!! Also I’m convinced Shino is a peppy as there is no peppy deer

Usually not a fan of the monkey villager designs, but I’m excited for Tiansheng strictly because he’s the monkey king.

Shino has to be my favourite design, her design is so mysterious and fitting for my traditional Japanese style island. Also she fits perfectly with Halloween! Love the horns and the unique colour scheme. I also love the little monkey in the expansion pass his design is super cute maybe he will be able to visit our island sometime?

HOLY MOLY, Rio's japanese name is "De Janeiro", that whole character is just Rio de Janeiro! The brazilian representation i never knew i needed! 💙

I’ve noticed that Petri’s ears resemble the red and blue on 3D glasses.
Shino looks very fitting for Halloween.

2:31 looks like he's based of the Chinese folk tale of the Monkey King Sun Wukong. He's drawn like that often, and the band on his head is supposed to tighten when he misbehaves.

I think Sasha is actually male! There is quite a bit of evidence for it:
- Their Japanese name is Mitchell, a very obvious male name. Their German name is also a male name, and the English, Spanish and French names (Sasha, Ariel, and Alix) are gender-neutral, meaning it could go both ways. These names were picked on purpose like every other name, probably to play into Sasha's androgyny.
- If you look at how the amiibo cards are presented, starting from Sherb it goes male-female-male-female and so on. Sasha is after Reneigh and before Ione, which would make them male.
- Additionally, the amiibo cards are in the following order: Lazy (Sherb) - Normal (Megan) - Jock (Dom) - Peppy (Audie) - Cranky (Cyd) - Snooty (Judy) - Smug (Raymond) - Sisterly (Reneigh). This order is continued throughout the 8 returning villagers (Chadwick is Lazy, Zoe is normal, and so on). Sasha is at the "lazy" spot.
