I'm not an expert, but here are my recommendations for island villagers, based on your theme! like i said in the video, it's just my opinion, and if left any of your faves out, feel free to let me know what theme you think they would fit in!

If youre doing a more rainforest type junglecore, you can have brightly colored frogs because poison dart frogs exist.

How about spacecore? There’s obvious villagers like Judy and Julien, and some like the robot villagers, octo villagers, filbert and ruby, but that’s all I can think of

I prefer to "adapt" my villagers to the theme of my island instead of looking for specific ones: clothes do a lot for fitting them into the ambience, also change their house exteriors. I made a traditional japanese themed island and only Phil had the vibe of it from the beginning, with people like Octavian and Sprocket being at the very polar opposite. Then I gave kimonos to each, even straw ronin hats to the octopus and the robot, and they absurdly fit now. Anyway, very interesting video.

I've gotta say, as someone who's kinda trying to make a cottagecore/foresty island, Teddy is SO perfect. Brown bear (check), log cabin exterior house (check), very woodsy/domestic interior (check). Check out teddy for an awesome jock cottagecore friend!

my island theme is generally forestcore, but with a very specific backstory. all my villagers have their own backstories that they were actually based on with their design. for example: genji, benjamin, chèvre, nan, kiki, coco and shino are all based on japanese stories/folklore!
