I’ve been going insane for the past two days. If this is the issue I’m going to cry.

Had to surf the net for 3 straight hours to get the youtube algorithm working 😂. Thanks man, you made my day 🙏

Some motherboards with multiple m.2 slots will only allow one of them to be used as a boot drive. Check your user manual first, and if its a second hand board you can find the manual of the manufacturers site.

For ROG Strix Motherboards. Just fixed my issue. Boot > CSM > Boot from PCI-E Expansion Devices > UEFI Driver first. Hope this helps

2024 Thanks... I had 2 ASUS Z97 Hero Maximus VII boards with i7-4790k and i5-4690k loading Windows 10 on both... either would pick up the M.2s .... one was a 500GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus.... 2nd was a 1TB WD Black SN770... had to do this a few times but got both to work... Thanks again :)

M.2 mode was not in the options so I tried disabling ( wait for ‘F1’ if error ) option under boot configuration and it worked to some extent meaning I still get the POST screen but after 2 to 3 secs it boots to windows !

If you're still having trouble with this after the video, use a flash drive to update your bios. It will correct all of the settings.
