New Genuine Subaru oil filter Review

Definitly a mid grade oil filter made in Indonesia, good build qaulity but is it as good as a few aftermarket oil filters.
Plus i bought a Subaru cap.

Tokyo Roki oil filters have a good reputation for quality, it is very similar to the generic Chinese filter and Denso, I would use this filter without hesitation.

The filter you are holding is for the non turbo engines; the short and stout filters are for the turbo models. These are definitely better than the old blue ones made by fram.

Sizewise your Subaru can use a better filter from Hyundai. Better oil filtration and a bigger filter. What's not to like? Of course, some people may say that the bypass valve pressure is higher on Subaru filter. 1 bar vs 1.5 bar pressure. But who cares if the Hyundai filter has 60% more filter medium? Thank you for the centimetres. It is understandable now.

I think me daughter uses these filters on her Subaru, she will see this and maybe change her oil filter arrangement for that car. Really another sticking bypass.

This filter 15208aa20a is used for FB engines for The North American Market--it is a good filter compared to the old 15208aa15a. The rest of the world gets 15208aa160 from Japan; it is also the filter which comes on new Foresters and Crosstrek from Japan and you can import this from Japan. This filter the 152088aa20a is not for the EJ engine in your Subaru Forester it would be 15208aa100. The filter 15208aa20a is for the top mounted FB engines which are the most common Subaru engines now and used in the Forester from 2012 onward and only found in the North American Market.
