Remove all the dry fuel from around your house (dead branches, leaves, etc.) you should also have rakes and shovels available and use sprinkler heads that will create a barrier for you without having to man the hose. Doing the above is no guarantee but it will help to minimize the risk.

Just an FYI when a truck connects to a hydrant you will loose all your water pressure

You need a 3/4 hose not 5/8, the friction loss is rather big in a 5/8 vs a 3/4. You also need to look at your pressure and flow rate of your water supply. Also replace the twist valve with a 3/4 d valve for your water supply.

If you are going to store hose on floor, make sure you lay it correctly, so when you run it, You are not figting it kinking and twisting.

another reason that the twist style nozzles are better because you can put it to where it stands out and blocks the heat from hitting you if absolutely needed. You can make it any pattern that you need.

You may be very surprised to find out how difficult it is to stretch that curled up 100' hose. Every coil puts a twist in the line that must be un-twisted or it WILL kink when pulled taut. I have the same hose but only '75 feet (all I need) and have that problem. If I was doing it over, I would do 25' hoses with quick disconnects. Easies way around the issue is to mount a hose reel so when you pull the hose it unreels smoothly and the hose lays flat. A free standing reel won't work, they tip over and you end up trying to drag the whole thing! Wildfire is not an issue where I live but I've seen enough house fire videos to understand that six gallons per minute on a fire in my home NOW is hugely better than 100 GPM fifteen minutes from now after the fire department shows up. The hose is NOT a substitute for the FD, it is FIRST AID while they are en-route. I also have several dry chemical extinguishers and a CO2 extinguisher in the kitchen to snuff a grease fire without making God's own mess with the powder going everywhere.

You should be concerned. The kids and I just had to put out a fire to protect our house. Your nozzles won’t work. They don’t have enough flow. You need the sprinklers on the the tripod. I’m very tempted to do a video on it on my public channel
