Credit where it is due: This is impressive.
But this is a competition. In an actual call, a team of 2 will lead the attack. Another team of 2 will establish a water supply, another team managed the lines. In addition to their PSA, the attack team will carry a hose pack, irons, smoke curtain (gets jammed into the door frames) and maybe a FLIR camera. 30 kilos of gear easily. And yes, you oftentimes need a FLIR camera. If you go without one and run into thick black smoke with zero visibility, you won’t see the flames until you are right next to them. Which to the uninitiated sounds kinda counterintuitive because they see the blazing flames in the window or on the roof. Also, thermal imaging helps establish where there is still residual heat in a structure. Cause you don’t want the fire to flare up again two hours later.
