Just so I understand this fully, this is an adapter, that plugs into a car with android auto or carplay, and can then interpret/use the inverse system (ie if car has apple carplay, it can use android auto and vice versa) and wireless to phone?

Does this just pass the android auto app from the phone? ie apps that are installed on the phone are available?
I'm mainly asking because I'm looking for something that can get google maps onto my '20 Prius Prime Limited that has wired Carplay, but I *hate* apple... and I just want god damn google maps because the toyota nav is kinda shit.

I followed the link to the Amazon page on your description and bought it expecting the 4th gen dongle. The one I received is the 3rd gen one based on the screen like on 2:06. Was expecting the 4th gen.

The 3rd gen is detected as CarPlay device by my car but my device is Android. So basically it converts the signal from wired Carplay to wireless AA. Is this how it's normally done instead of direct wired AA to wireless AA?

I should've bought MSXTTLY from your previous video instead. :(

i have a geely coolray 2024 and im thinking in changing my carlinkit 4.0 my car only comes with AC and im a AA user, the current box i use is very unstable, random disconnects, crackling noises from my phone speakers due to the disconnects, im wondering which ai box do you recommend me, also my country is very hot and humid...thanks!

Well, I won’t be trying this as surprise surprise a lot of the time I a, not alone in the car. Now, why am I looking for one of these, because I have a brand new Toyota BZ4X and not only will it not allow a second person to use the car play with out reconfiguring it every time. How does it handle the new stupidity of waze, Apple Maps, Google maps etc to refuse to let you use the maps app if your in a car moving gen as a passenger in a bus!
