“Do I just have to be on drugs forever now?” Most relatable line of the show tbh

Love that Guy doesn’t even question the salad bowl thing, he’s just like “yes, you’re a beautiful salad bowl” because that’s what she needs to hear rn

This is why Guy is so good for her. He put her health and safety above the book. He didn’t make her feel bad when she kept apologising. He didn’t give her anything to fight against and let her calm down and discuss things. I love Guy so much

"You blame everyone else for all your problems but you're the one constant here" Jesus the writing of this show

I love that Guy had that microsecond of confusion at Diane's "I want to be a beautiful salad bowl", but he didn't let it trip him up. The delivery is *chef's kiss*

Watching this show, I could never decide whether I liked or hated Diane. That's a sign of good writing. When characters are three dimensional enough that they inspire mixed feelings.

“Your damage isn’t interesting” is way too fucking relatable. 😢

"Do I have to just be on meds for the rest of my life?!" I remember a time i went through withdrawal and the pure fear of actually needing pills got to me. That i was actually dependent on something for my brain to work.

Its not that its worse now, its that you grew up dealing with that pain every day. Now after meds, you finally know what its like to breathe and going back under hits you like bricks

Man I feel for Diane. Going through so much trauma and negativity in the past, it just...grows on you. Makes you wonder "Is this what I deserve to be? Hated? Unloved?" and the fact that being loved, accepted, and treated like a human being is so...alien.

Guy leaving and then, to Diane's perspective, immediately comes in such a great visual gag.

I know it's not the point of the scene, but I wanna give serious props to the writers for not portraying Diane's weight gain as a bad thing. Oftentimes a character gaining weight is either used as a joke or to show that they've "let themselves go", but here it's linked to the positive change of her getting the help she needed. It's such a small thing but it's not something I see often, and as someone who has recently gained a little weight because I was taking better care of myself it's nice to not see a character like Diane be mocked for her weight.

I've noticed that people who have never suffered trauma hate Diane. Those of us who have, sympathize with her. This video? Yeah, this is our inner monologue every time it's quiet and our brains are allowed to wander. To this day, I still can't sleep without a video playing, cuz otherwise my brain does this. Just an endless loop of all your shortcomings and reasons why no one could love you.

Mr. pb could never handle an episode like this. I'm glad she's happier now...

I hate how accurate it is. When I want to punish myself I stop taking my meds so I coud feel even worst, because I deserve to be depressed

I love how unlike Bojack, instead of sitting on the couch feeling sorry for herself she actually got help for her depression.

I love Guy <3 I'm so glad she married him in the end. He was so supportive. Just what she needed

This episode more than any other made it clear to me that Diane and Bojack’s relationship was not a good or healthy thing. He’s literally the voice of all her worst insecurities in her head. What does that say about what they think of each other? Nothing good.

This was honestly how I was when I was off my pills but more angry and unstable I was a danger to myself

As an aspiring writer who struggles with mental illness and addressing my trauma, I related to Diane *so* much in this episode it scared me a little tbh, but also reassured me

I love how realistic this is. Diane’s current predicament is hands down one of the most realistic portrayals in the show. Do not stop taking your meds. The spiralling is always going to be worse than what you think!
