I got this recommended after seeing the library clip. Interesting how PB's displays of affection damaged Diane's ability to receive gifts. She immediately thinks there's an underhanded objective about making her feel shitty...she can't take the gift because the gift feels like a trap. :c

Watching this really makes me understand why Diane had to end her friendship with Bojack. They are so similar in so many ways and in many ways bring out the worst in each other

Why Diane and Guy works is because both know they have to make compromises. Diane IS being guarded and antagonistic here because of how she can't handle feeling good about herself or thinking she deserves things, but Guy doesn't grasp just yet that it's not as easy as "Just think positive". Diane learns how to be more positive and more accepting and vulnerable while Guy learns how to be more supportive and understanding. They meet each other halfway. Diane and PB DID try to do this, but their growth was stunted by the fact they had two very different goals/ideas for their relationship at the time (PB living FOR the relationship and Diane simply living WITH the relationship)

The part where she says am "I your girlfriend, am I the um woman you work with? What is this?" Really hit. People keep saying that Guy's good for Diane which he is but she at least showed him he needed to mature in that department.

i always thought bojack and diane would end up together eventually. but when guy joins to her story i realized he is the one for her. i always wanted a happy ending for her, she deserved it. man... it's kinda ironic that a animated serie can be this complicated and deep just as real life.

Tbh Diane does punish herself because of what has happened to her but Guy also needs to mature and have the will to say yes she is my girlfriend. I'm really glad they fixed everything with time aNd realization

Theyre one of my favourite couples. Guy is really good for Diane and very patient with her without being condescending or pitying her, and they get along very well. I hope to be in a relationship as happy as theirs one day :)

I think it's amazing, that following this scene, she walks to the Hotel and feels the instant regret of being cold. It's like she's forced to recognize the impact of her choices, and it causes her to reconsider, while also adding that underhanded message she suspected from Guy's Gift. I can imagine her thinking how bad it was to be cold, and how nice that coat would've felt, how nice it'd feel to be warm, and happy.

Diane’s got a point. Guy should’ve just said that’s she’s his girlfriend. It’s a small thing to harp on, but a clear declaration would easily diffuse some of the tension. He didn’t even give a proper answer, which only made it worse. Guy gots to stake his claim if he wants her to stay with him. Still a great “ guy”, but his indecisiveness is a problem.
