Am I making the cast on loops from the yarn bundle or the long string? I thought the string was left for stitching pieces together if you were working on sections.

I just watched your long tail cast on short and this is practically the same way apart from the long tail method is easier!😁You may as well do the long tail method!
I cast on 80st in chenille yarn last night in the traditional way and I had forgotten how horrible chenille is to work with!🥴
