Yes yes yes this is the way I learned how to cast on. I couldn't do the other one that you do. Casting on was always my Achilles heel and now I'm good with this method 👍

Thank you, this is a great technique for casting on! You taught me how to knit properly (instead of just knitting garter stitch scarves because that was all I could do) two years ago and when I bought your book it was a real eye opener for me. You make knitting far less complicated and more fun, and because of you all my loved ones received cowls and snoods in an array of patterns for Christmas last year ❤️. I even made a blanket for myself ☺️ Keep up the good work! Suzy x

So glad your here! Been a customer for a while now. Love your pattern book. I could really use some help with my bind off. It is always to tight. Any video on that would be great. I tend to knit and crochet on the tight side. Thanks

I have been knitting for over 40 years, and the cast on method I use is similar to what you use except I just wrap the yarn around my thumb once and then put the stitch on the needle. To me it's easier than doing it in the videos shown on you tube.

I've just joined your channel and I've found this casting on thumb method really great for a beginner. I've ordered some needles and yarn which have yet to arrive.
I was so eager to start knitting after viewing some of your videos and having no proper equipment I decided to try with a pair of bamboo chopsticks and some butchers string which I find isn't easy to knit with as there is zero elasticity in the butcher's string.
However, the advantage is I am getting some practice in and developing my muscle memory until my yarn and needles arrive!

Thank you so much for this video! I am a beginner knitter & realized I was leaving out the final steps resulting in a loose unattractive cast on. Your videos are great. If I want to learn any new stitch I always look for your videos first. You are the best!

So I followed along but I don’t really know if I am doing it right but after I cast on my stitch at least i think I now have three loops on the needle is that right?
