I know this video is older but thank you so much for making it so clear, short, and showing knitting at the end. I'm a crocheter who wants to knit a lap blanket for Christmas and this was perfect

Thank you for this! I learnt to knit as a child and haven't knit anything in about 30 years.... maybe?.... So, I just couldn't recall that little necessary twist in the cast on! So, it was, '"Ahah! That's what I'm forgetting!" Thank you! :)

THANK YOU! I am 74Hundred years old, knitting since age 5-6. Due to "life" I haven't knitted for about 10 years. Today, I couldn't remember how to do cast on! Something we didn't have access to "back in the day" YOU TUBE would provide the answer. Well, I was surprised that I really had to LOOK! You mentioned the 1st time you did this, you put the loop made on the needle incorrectly. WELL, that is the way I was instructed to do in the video I just left, and then found you! I follow you a lot on Fiber Spider and your crochet. You, dear one, are a blessing! So, on a whim (and a prayer) I did Fiber Spider search. VIOLA!!! THANK YOU!!!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I adore you! You’re such an amazing teacher. I feel so frustrated when I try to knit. It never goes fast enough. And it’s so easy to mess up. But I feel like you may just be my secret weapon! 😉 thank you

This is by far the easiest cast on instructions I've found on YouTube so far. Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you!

Congratulations! In just under six minutes, you've managed to make something clear to me that I've never been able to learn before! I don't even own knitting needles. I saw this tutorial and grabbed a pair of chopsticks... O.o WooHoo! Thank you!

Sew much easier this way. I just knit cotton washcloths these days, love this method! Thank you 🙏

This is the cast on method I learned when I first started knitting about 72 years ago. Because I have arthritis in my hands at 80, I have a difficult time using the long tail cast on. Thanks for a great video.

Fantastic! I thought the short tail cast on was the answer to my frustrations, but I had so much trouble trying to get into the stitches for the first row. This is my salvation. Thank you!

This has been the easiest video to learn from as well as the easiest cast on I've learned yet! Thank you!

I'm trying knitting again and your tutorials are so helpful. This knitted cast on method is way better than the long tail method. Thanks for all of your tutorials.

I want to say thank you so much. I had forgotten how to do this cast. You did a wonderful job in your demonstration of this technique. Thank you again.

As a left handed person, I have been trying to figure out the Long Tail cast on for a few days (beginner here). and I just found this and my cast on is so much more even and the loops are evenly spaced! Thank you for showing this!

Please keep making more videos for beginners like me. Most of the other videos online go way too fast. You are an excellent teacher!

this is a great technique!! after putting the new mask back on to the first pin, your 2 needle is actually in the right place to keep on going, pulling op a new loop, so there is no need to “stop” in between casting them.

it feels so effective to do,
thanks for sharing 👍

I have knitted off and on since I was a pre-teen, but I NEVER learned to cast on properly!!! THIS technique is fabulous, and I was sitting here casting on while you were demonstrating!!! THANK YOU!!!

Thank you for calling attention to the need to go underneath the loop before putting it onto the left needle. That is the crucial step that I always forget about whenever it's been awhile since I've done the knitted cast-on. It's also helpful that you "anchor" the loop with the index finger of your right hand before you go underneath the loop and pull it through.

Thanks for this explanation! All the videos do the method holding the yarn on the left, and I didn't learn to knit that way, so I couldn't figure it out. Already gonna use this cast on method!
