If you're from California don't move to Wyoming! Stay in California and fix the problems you created.

When I retired from the post office in CA, I moved to Casper. I LOVED it! I'm a conservative so I fit right in. I was stunned at the true friendliness of the people. If your engine light went on and you pulled over, someone would pull in behind you to help within seconds. I was offered a low cost senior apartment in California and I went back to be closer to my family. I want to go BACK 😢 When my lease expires, I think I'm coming back. I miss Casper mountain, walking at night (in the snow and wind, it didn't bother me) the deer walking to my truck (every once in a while feeding them apples 2:34 2:34 )😅😅

I have been a Casper resident for almost 30 years coming from California. We will be leaving the state probably early 2025. I love the state with all my heart. The winters get rough. We'll probably be spending our twilight years in the South. If you love the outdoors, the lack of people and clean air. Your love all of Wyoming.

Wyoming sounds great! I’m comfortable with weapons and snow at age 73.

No houses for me, apparently. I think real estate agents everywhere do a great disservice to the public.
What is this infatuation with large homes and spaces? Many of us don’t need, or want, more than a small nice home as a single person; as are many retirees or military personnel. Those housing choices are almost nonexistent.

This is the deal for me. I have lived in this Washington DC area for 20 years and have a nice house here: until a couple years ago. The water pipes on all floors burst while I was on a trip. I came home to garbage and mice everywhere so needed a room quickly while still working. Had to let the house go on sale.

One of my coworkers, mentioned I should call a DC local hotel for a room. Stayed in the room for a couple months that became years after retiring, Still there now. I could have bought another house but would have sold the original had I seen this before. The monthly rate is covered by my pension payments and includes lots of benefits plus wireless connection. The only cost is the hotel bill and local taxes.

In my case I should have sold the house earlier and ‘retired’ then. Now I’m looking for another home to settle in to keep my growing stash of goods. South Dakota, or South Carolina or Wyoming?

I am committed to the local hotel for at least another four months but might try moving to one in Wyoming for the first year.

Regards

Just seen your video. We been here for 10 years. Moved up here to help my mother-in-law. Very good schools. It did take a little while to get used to wind, but we decided to stay and retire here. Our youngest will graduate high school next year. We love it here. Our favorite place to eat is Sherries downtown on 2nd st. ❤

Harriet Hageman is the real deal. She is now one of the most influential Congresspeople in Washington. Wyomingites now say "Liz who?"

If a person isn't fond of Winter, snow and cold, if they don't like isolation and a lot of open space then Wyoming is not the best choice. On the other hand, if rough weather and isolation are no big deal then Wyoming could be a brilliant choice. That's all there is to it.

Thank you for the video; helpful and informative. We will be visiting Cheyenne and Casper this fall to scout it out. I'll be looking forward to your other videos.

I moved here January 22. I'm buying property on the mountain right now. I'm also from California but I was 1 of 5 conservatives in the state. I've never regretted coming here.

If you like wind…Wyoming is your place. If you like cold, below zero…you’ll love it.

Bingo. Lived there 5+ years. Wind was biggest issue for me. Good, honest video.

Casper is a great place, yes sir. Best homeless shelters and hookup spots in the country. Harrison Ford once helped me skin an elk. True story.

I lived in Los Angeles for a short time when I was a child. I would rather live in Casper WY.

Wyoming jokes - Why is it so great being in the middle of Wyoming? No matter which way you go, you are headed out.
