Ocean 4 Life – Nature-based Solutions for people and planet

Marine Nature-based Solutions offer countries attractive solutions to societal challenges such as food security, socio-economic development and climate change mitigation and adaptation. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) engages in initiatives such as MeerWissen and Save Our Mangroves Now! that specifically promote the development and implementation of marine Nature-based Solutions in partner countries.

The video shows the Western Indian Ocean Mangrove Network which is supported through the BMZ ‘Save Our Mangroves Now!’ initiative. The WIO Network builds relevant partnerships with interest actors regionally and internationally in sharing the necessary knowledge to build capacity in the science and management of mangroves.
