By now, most of us know the end of Monsters Inc. The Monsters discover that the screams they've been using as a power source are not the most optimized way to do business. Which, you know, is good to find out given the terror they've been puting generations of kids through. Thanks to the adventures of Sully, Mike and Boo, they find out laughter works even BETTER than the sreams. What I want to know, Theorists, is WHY that is and, more importantly, did the Monsters actually make a big MISTAKE?

I'm shocked that "love" wasn't the most powerful power source. ;)

I think the reason the monsters don't scare the adults is because children forget about the monsters when they grow up, but if it started happening to adults then the whole human world would know about the monster world.

can you imagine the humans in the monster inc world?

millennials: the monsters in our closets made us laugh

boomers: the monsters in our closets would make us scream and cry, it’s why your generation is so soft

It's like Dr. Doofenshmirtz all over again. Create a world ending device and lose to a baking soda volcano.

"you don't have to be afraid of monsters because the real world is filled with so much worse"
I'm gonna tell that to my kids every night before bed

"because kids these days are losing their fear of monsters "

“It’s actually a power company that gets it’s power by harvesting children’s screams”
When you say the plot of the movie it seems like this should be a horror.

Consider this, though: amusement parks. laughter and screaming

If adults found out that monsters are real, they might have been scared the first night, but they'd have 5 friends with shotguns waiting for the monster the next night.

“It’s genuine nightmare fuel”

So glad I’m not the only one who gets that this movie was actually kinda dark

For any parent out there that has a child that's afraid of monsters, here's some advice: use a glade plug-in and say it's monster repellent. My grandpa came up with it and it worked for me and my brother when we were in that scared-of-monsters phase.

I just realised that between monsters inc going from scream energy to laughter energy, a bunch of really scary monsters lost their job...

Just a random thought- naming a company in a moster world "monsters inc" is like naming a company in this world "humans inc"
