Theorists, maybe Cruella had the right idea. Wait, no! I'm not talking about making coats out of cute, defenseless puppies. I meant that they cost a LOT of money. She tells Roger and Anita that they simply can't afford to keeps them all, so they should sell them to her. Well, THAT is a bad idea but maybe she was onto something. Raising and providing for three humans PLUS 101 Dalmatians must cost a LOT of money. How much? Time for us to to get out our calculators and find out!

Cruella: *asks specific questions about her dogs hair and jokes about wearing her dogs*
Anita: seems legit🙂

Even as a kid, I thought that taking care of so many puppies was too much and selling them for adoption for all of them would be smart. Though, the specifics were unknown to me, glad MatPat cleared that up

I mean...how could you expect that your boss would literally be insane enough to try and kidnap your puppies and skin them? Anita probably just thought she was gonna try to recreate the feeling of Dalmatian fur through fabric or something.

In the original book, Cruella didn’t need anyone’s help to get the idea to turn puppies into coats. In fact, she was more messed up in the book.

"They even adopt Cruella's abused cat"

Wow Cruella was one messed up character, but really unforgettable and memorable.

It’s crazy how recognizable Cruella De vil is and I can’t even remember the owners names

This is why i love matpat's theories: he tends to explain in exhaustive detail. Though i think the prices should have been in 1950s prices

The fact that they called their home a plantation, makes it seem to me, that Anita and her husband had every intention of selling some of those pups.

Why do I feel like mat is preparin for when his son gets to that "I want a puppy" stage?

Fun fact: how the author thought of the idea is that at a party someone said that her dog would make a great fur coat
She also had about 8 dalmatians

11:10 The moment where MatPatt never heard of neutering.
14:00 Is actually dangerous to breed a dog so young, most dogs breeders usually wait until the second or third heat where the animal's body is bigger.
14:15 Those kind of business already exist, there are called puppy mills. There are more worse than there sound.

I think Cruella is the only character who’s name people actually remember from that movie

In the book, Anita and Roger actually buy Cruella's house in the country (the house where the puppies were imprisoned) because 1) it already had a huge wall, 2) it already had kennels, and 3) it was dirt cheap because Cruella had to flee the country due to being ruined financially by the dalmatians destroying all her furs as suggested by the abused cat. So there you go, Mat Pat: they were able to afford the house not only because Roger was a math wiz, but because of the abused cat's revenge on her nasty mistress.

if anita gave cruella the idea for dalmatian coats in the 1996 movie, then matpat is forcing mrbeast's hand by unofficially challenging him to upkeep 101 real dalmatians as an experiment for a set amount of days

Was I the only one who ever thought as a kid "why didn't they just try to find the original owners of the puppies?" I could never understand why they chose to keep all of them instead of returning them to their owners

Cruella is basically the trope of "villain kicks puppy to show that they're the villain" but instead of kicking the puppy, she kills and skins it. Because ✨ *fashion* ✨

I love how mattpat just automatically assumes that they wouldn't just have all the dogs either spayed or neutered.

We can only imagine MatPat’s search history and targeted adds...

When I saw the title of this video, I wondered how MatPat could possibly justify puppy murder. Then when he started talking about how expensive it would be to own them, I really hoped that wasn't the actual justification because no amount of money it would take to raise all those dogs is reason enough to turn them into coats. Luckily, he didn't end up justifying puppy murder. The answer to "Was Cruella actually wrong" according to MatPat was thankfully "yes." I also guessed that the best option would be to put the puppies up for adoption. Good video.
